Bauer Flexlite 4.0 Fit

Recommended Posts

So I wanted to go try out the "new" Bauer Flexlite 4.0 Skates at my LHS but they will just get regular widths and I'm a 8EE in the supreme line.

How do the Flexlites fit, wider than the Supremes or equivalent? I was wondering if a 8D Flexlite would fit more like a 8EE Supreme.

Thanks guys.

the flexlites are the widest skate bauer makes, but from what I read on icewarehouse.com, the new flexlite line has a narrow heel, which the first line did not have and I don't think they make this line in a EE width, but I'm not sure, as always, try them on and see for yourself how they fit. cheers

I had supreme 30, and tried on the flexlite 4.0 a couple of weeks back. It's definately a wider skate than the supremes, but I thought it didn't have as much depth to it.

If you don't have very deep feet, but they are wider, it could be a good fit.

They are a really nice skate, at least from my limited time trying them on, just not deep enough volume wise for me.

From what you guys are saying the Flexlite 4.0 is wide with a narrow heel and not very deep. Doesn't that sound like Tacks? How high is the arch... low medium, high?

Skate has a TON of volume.

My foot was bursting out the top of it compared to the SE10 and RBK 5k. It was much noticeably different. It may have been the width wasn't as much, but it felt fine width wise to me

Skate has a TON of volume.

Meaning a regular width could fit me even if I fit in a 8EE supreme?

From what Ivd heard and experienced with older Flexlites the D width seemed to be pretty wide fitting. Im wearing a 10 EE in my One95s and I plan on getting the Flexlites in a 9.5 D.

Im sure someone else has better input with the fit and widths but that is my experience.

Im going a half size smaller, because the length of my One95s are a little bit too big. Im having problems the skates feeling sloppy right now so I think the 9.5 D will solve my problem.

Well, I can't confirm the fit is similar... but for what it's worth - I've worn E or EE in RBKs, Bauers, and Missions... I wore a D width Flexlite 18 with plenty of room width-wize, and depth-wize.

Ive also worn Ccm and Rbk skates in E widths and Bauer in EE. Youre saying the D width of the Flexlites is similar to the width of E and EE Ccm and Bauer skates?

Okay thats exactly what I need in a skate. Something a little bit wider, but not overly wide where my foot would be swimming again.

Bauer rep said that the D Flexlite is equivalent to Vapor/Supreme EE. So the EE Flexlite is WIDE...like for my duck feet.

I got a price quote on Custom Flexlite 4.0 this week. They are as much as an X:60 or Supreme ONE95. Then yesterday a guy brought a custom 4.0 in for sharpening. He had extra thick white felt tongues, clarino lining, and Tuuk Custom + set-up. The skates looked really good in all black, so much better than the Silver Surfer version.

So if you were going to do custom skates....which I may be doing in the future....it costs the same for custom skates regardless of model?

I can understand the reasons to get retail Flexlites....width, looks, etc. But if you can get a custom fit and build, wouldnt you get the better 0ne95 for the same price?

I love the basic look of the flexlite, but I would definitely go with the one95 custom if the price was the same....plus the one95 is still a pretty basic looking skate.

I tried flexlite 4.0 9.5 Regular width and boy was it wide upfront but nice and snug in the heel but the boot felt a little too big for me, 9 or even 8.5 might be more my size but the store did not have it. I currently skate in RBK 9K 9.5 regular width and that fits me perfectly except for the sloppy heel fit.

I would say wider. I had to have the outside of the forefoot punched in my RBK's... no such issues in the Flexlite.

May I ask what width you were in the 9k's? I am a E width in the 9k. I would love to have it a hair wider in forefoot below my pinky toe. These Flexlites intrigue me. What is your overall opinions on fit and stance of the flexlites vs the RBK's? Is the arch similar or higher? Does it have as much forward pitch as the RBK? What about heel width vs RBK?

Sorry for all the questions. Just want to get some insight since you come from wearing a 9k like me.

Thanks!
