Datsyuk pro stock or game used

Recommended Posts

Yes, his sticks are very long. His sticks are now about 4-5 inches longer in comparison to his rookie year.

I don't think the stick on eBay is a pro stock. I would beware. The seller is selling it as a pro stock.

All of Pavel's 10K sticks say "Pasha" on them. Ask the seller to send you pics of the Pasha stamp.

I just thought it was really interesting how Datsyuk uses a stick that is much longer than what is recommended. I know it all goes back to personal preference. But i thought its ridiculous when i see how Datsyuk's stick is up to his nose on his skates. He's in my opinion the best puckhandlers in the league so nobody's going to tell him where to cut his sticks. Its gotten me thinking if i should experiment with a slightly longer stick.

I've seen it work both ways. Longer sticks gives you more range with the puck but it takes longer time-wise to bring from one side to the other. Shorter sticks make it easier to move the puck around but you have less range.

The thing I find most amazing is how much longer his 10Ks are to his Easton/CCM sticks. He seems to be fumbling the puck much more in these playoffs then I have ever seen. Maybe the length has something to do with it? Then again, he takes every puck away from Kane and Toews that is within his incredibly long wing span.

His rookie year sticks are about 5 inches shorter.

Unless he hands you one over the glass or you know Mr. Boyer the only way to get a stick is through Hockeytown Authentics. Even the sellers on Ebay are getting everything from there.

Datsyuk's sticks are stamped Pasha and he is one of the few players on the wings who doesn't use a wooden butt end. Additionally all his sticks have tape wrapped over the top of the shaft with red electrical tape around the bottom with 13 on it.

I really like the longer sticks, poke checks are certainly easier. The only problem I had is when you want to handle the puck really close to your feet you have to get your hands a hundred feet in the air.

Interesting that Datsyuk uses such a long stick. Does anyone know what lie his pro stocks are?

Might be the angle of the pictures, but the 3rd picture of Datsyuk makes it seem like he has a super short stick, like his rookie year. The pic shows a long stick.

He was an Easton guy until a relatively short time ago so I would bet it would be the angle. If I remember right he used an orange synergy for awhile and CCM Vector.
