My first was as a "house" mite. It was at a bubble rink just outside of Baltimore. I managed to get a breakaway and slipped it between the glove and the top of the pad. The goalie was a monster, or at least that's what he looked like to me. I was playing for the Chesapeake Bay Chiefs. The best part of playing for that team was that we practiced at Piney Orchard where the Caps practiced back in the early 90's (and possibly before then but that's when I was there). I can't believe that I still remember the goal since it was over 18 years ago. It's such an amazing game that's given me tons of great memories.

I believe I was 19 when I started playing (1994) and I was inspired watching the conference finals for both the east and west that year and then all the way to the end when the Rangers won. Went down to the local rink the next day and signed up for classes. Now here I am at age 34 and have been playing pretty consistently since then.

My first goal was in my rec league at the time. I was on defense near the blueline and the puck came to me. I put some sort of feeble wrister on goal and it went 5 hole after going through traffic. It was a total and complete cheese goal. Utter garbage. But it was my first, and I was stoked.

I remember mine because it was the 10th and last game of my first season, I came down the right side and nailed a wrist shot that was so slow that the goalie reacted and then it went 5 hole.

The second goal I scored was the last game of the next season which was the 2nd game of a best of 3 finals where my team won and I scored what was either the game winner or the insurance goal, another wrist shot 5 hole.

I'll never forget mine. I was 5 playing in my 2nd year of 1/2 mites. First game of the season, couple of minutes into the 2nd period. I was on the bench between the 1st and 2nd period when the goalies switched ends. Somebody came off on the fly after the 2nd period started and coach threw me out there. In my excitement, I raced down (across) the ice and scored. ON MY OWN GOALIE!

I got my second goal ever in that same game, thank goodness.

Wow I played hockey since I was 5 or 6 and I couldn't for the life of me remember my first goal but in the second and third seasons of house league I would get a goal every couple games and usually in 2's. My first goal in rep was in mt 2nd year took a nice wrister from the point and cross bar and in. I was a sort of offensive/defensive defensemen who wasn't bad but I didn't score much only when it counted. A few goals in OT in the playoffs mainly oddly enough.

I remember mine because it was only sometime last year. Got the puck and came down the right wing side, with a defenseman covering me. Tried to take a shot from the faceoff dot, but I lost it off my stick, looked back and picked it back up, started to skate behind the net, so I just put it out in front on my backhand and it trickled through 5-hole. It certainly wasn't a sweet goal, but I remember how excited I was as I went around the back of the net and saw it slide in. I put my hands up and screamed like a girl.

The first goal i remember (probably got a few in novice/atom) was playing my first year high school hockey. I always played a stay-at-home d-man type game because my partner (we were partners since novice) was the complete opposite and i'd often have to cover for him. We had a bunch of injuries and suspensions and our team was 0-1-19. Because of this i got bumped up to play forward. It was the second last game of the regular season and during my second shift I picked off a breakout pass in front of the blue line and skated in on a partial break, went low glove and just kept skating, jumping up against the glass.

The puck seemed to follow me around the entire game and that was when i scored my second goal. I didn't know where to play in the offensive zone so i just camped in front of the net until the puck left the zone and then went 220% back into our defensive zone. The puck was near the blue line while my linemates were battling to keep it in, the d-man supposed to cover me had left to join the battle and one of our guys got the puck loose, fed it to our centre who was just inside the blue and he let a ripper go. The puck was waist high and i tipped it around the hash marks to beat the goalie throught he fivehole.

We were winning 2-0 with me getting the only two goals and it was nearing the end of the third. The other team scored and had the play all over us until we came down on a 3-on-2. I was the 3rd guy in and the first guy took a shot, it was saved, the second guy took another shot and it was saved. Because of both of their rebounds both d-man were out of the play. I took the rebound on the second shot and went backhand right over the blocker-side pad for the hat-trick.

I was on the ice when the buzzer went to end the game and we were in the other teams offensive zone. Some shit broke out in front of their net because they were upset for losing to the worst team in the league at the time. I skated between 3 fights and picked the puck up, tucked it in my pants, then joined the melee.

What a thrill it was to have my first 3-goals be the only goals in the only game our team won all year. I also played Midget A hockey that year and the next game (which was a playoff game) our coach put me forward where i scored the series winner against a local rival team in overtime, I was on fire. The next game, opening game of the second round i got a little too cocky looking for a pass cutting across centre and got my bell RUNG!. I don't even remember it, KO'd for over an hour.

Our high school team lost the next game and finished the year 1-1-20.

And that's the story of the last time i played forward....err...i meant my first goal

it was in my second game in my career. i think i was 3-4 years old and was playing up a level, i some how got on a break away and came down and shot the puck through the goalie's five hole. it was with one of the blue pucks because i think i was a "mini mite." We won 1-0 so it was pretty sweet for me because not only did i score the game winner but shortly before i scored some crazed parent was yelling at our coach to get me off the ice because i apparently wasn't good enough, so even 14 years later i still clearly remember it.

I didn't play as a kid so mine came when I was 23. I play defense and I took a slap shot from the point. It was going about 4-5 feet wide and hit a skate and deflected in.

Last week

Age 31

Game 3 of my "career" (beginners league)

Early in the last period, no score

I moved into the slot and had a fat rebound come right to my stick. I just wanted to make sure I got a hold of the thing and when I did it was like I was hyper-focused on watching it go into the back of the net. Garbage goal? Yeah, probably. But my personal goal for this season was to get an assist. Having only skated for a year and with a hockey stick for 4 weeks, I'll take anything I can get =) I look forward to the first time I snap a wrister from the high slot though (or stop properly or skate backwards for that matter).

I didn't celebrate, but I did smile most of the next day.

The first goal that I ever scored was in pee-wee roller hockey. It was my first year and I had gone the entire regular season without scoring. Late in the 3rd period of a tie game, I picked up a loose puck from the boards while my teammate was tied up with their D, skated into the slot, deked backhand and tucked it in. We ended up winning the game in OT.

b-b-b-bump

got my first goal / probably first real assist last night. the assist was a sweet pass off of a loose puck in the corners, the goal was (i belive) a rebound off the goalies pads that i picked up off in the faceoff circle and put it through the 5-hole.

fuck yeah.

we had a guy in our beer league get his first point ever. The poor guy should be painted orange and wear a pointy helmet because he can barely move. It was the funniest thing because he kept yelling at the ref from the bench to make sure he credited him for the assist. I can see getting excited about your first point (if your 8), but a grown man (we are talking late 20's - early 30's), thats a little different. We are not even sure how he got it, we think the puck may have acidently hit his stick and deflected. At least he was happy.

I don't remember my first ice goal, I was 8 at the time, don't remember much about it 15 years later. But I started a roller hockey team at my college, we got beat on pretty good our first year, no goals in the first 2 games I think. Third game, we were on a power play, I was playing D at the time, I yelled at one of my guys to go in front, then let a slapshot go from the blueline. There's no way the goalie would have seen it, i figure he just dropped to his knees anticipating thats where the shot would be, but I roofed it, crossbar and down in to the back of the net. so first goal in intercollegiate roller hockey and first one in my school's roller hockey history.

I dont remember my first goal as it was in......1975 I think :)

But I started playing again after 23 years in an adult league, and I scored my first goal on a slap shot from the point....top shelf. Felt great.

Funny thing was, my Mom was visiting us from out of town to see her grandkids, and she thought it would be a hoot to see her son play hockey just like she did many years ago. She actually got it on video, and I can hear her in the video, "thats my son!!!"

I cracked up when I watched it.

I don't remember my first goal, but my coach kept the puck and turned it into a trophy for. it has a base and plate that states the date scored.

My first came when I was a bantam. Back then each team had one game a season at the Forum (LA). We played the defending state champion and got smoked 18-2. I got both goals for my team. That was a really bad team, but we had one hell of allot of fun.

Even though we got creamed I still remember that one going in. It was pretty cool scoring at the LA Forum before a Kings game.
