Ahriman

making a stick stiffer

Recommended Posts

So I found myself with some 77 flex shafts (uncut) which when I tested out after using ~100 flex shafts, I just didnt like the feel that much. Is there anything I can do to make the shaft stiffer while keeping the length?

saw that coming a mile away.

anyways, so cutting down a large portion of the stick and adding a wood plug wouldn't be good enough or would that just be adding top heavy weight by cutting off ~6 inches and adding it back?

It'll work to a degree but I'd see about trading them. To me it never feels as natural as a shaft whose flex is what you normally use. Or just check out the many threads that have the same question. Potato tomato.

They're the NBH iD shafts, the supreme and the vapor ones from the demo rack. They feel great, just too whippy for me I think.

I cut down a 77 flex shaft a bit and added a composite extension to try to keep some of the balance. Didn't work too bad, but you definetly lose some feel.

I heard candy cane-ing the stick would add some stiffness to the flex.

I've got these magic beans, wanna buy some? $10 each + shipping.
