Things are sounding good on these so far, and they don't seem to bother my slight arches either which was suprising. I am so tempted to buy them but the Liner thing is really worrying anyone actually not have a problem with the liner?

Honestly I can not answer that question because I have only skated in them once (yesterday). I had a 3 point game though :) But I really dont see any reason why the liner would have a problem, it is very similar to the liner material in the vector 10s and i dont know of any problems that they had. Where were you going to get a good deal on these? The cheapest I have found them for is hockeydogs.com who had them for 299 blowout price and i used a coupon code I found on google to get another 30 bucks off (forget what the code was) so I paid $269.99 Have you found them cheaper? If so where?

Wow, if they are really your size and they are $175 that is a STEAL. I really dont know about the duribility of these skates tho since I just got them. I know they had the "bubbling" issue on the outer material but from what I heard that was purely cosmetic and did not affect the performance of the skates.

Well apparently as of today hockey monkey has the 08 U+ pros for $299 so they are starting to finally come down from the 500+ range. Im sure you will see a lot more people in them now that the price has dropped. I know people complaned about the RR and the bubbling but the runners feel good to me and if the bubbling is only cosmetic I could care less.

Do the Reloaded skates come in a C width or fit a little narrower than last year's models? I was doing a little browsing at the LHS and got into a conversation about the skates with one of the employees. He said that they stocked the C width but I haven't seen that listed anywhere online. He had a lot of good things to say about the skates and was rattling off all the new features. I guess CCM flew him up to Montreal and gave him a pair of customs so I didn't totally trust everything he said.

I have a narrow foot and a high arch so I haven't been able to get sufficient heel lock in CCMs for years. He seemed to think that this years model would fit different. I currently have graf 705s but have had problems with lace bite. It seems like the U+ Reloaded has more volume, but I am curious how my arch will do and if I will need superfeet or custom insoles. I think last years model had a pretty flat arch and was warned that they would kill my feet. I guess I will have to go back and try them on.

Yes, they come in C width. I had a whole bunch, but sent them back because I wanted D's, but ordered C's by mistake. Your local dealer should be able to order you a C, they are in stock.

Hi all,

I'm new in the forum, I'm playing in the 2nd division in Switzerland. English it's not my language, so i'm sorry for the mistakes...

I was using the CCM 552's (7.5D) for a long time, I just got my new U+ Pro Reloaded 2009 skates (7.5D) last week.

Backed in the oven at 93°C for about 2 minutes and fit the skates for 20 minutes.

The day after I went on the Ice for about 1.5 hours.

The skates hurt quite a lot in the arch area of one foot an on the front outside area of the other.

Reading the forum, I saw different opinions on the backing temperature and time... someone was saying 2.5minutes at 200°C??

I'm asking me if the 93°C (CCM procedure with temperature sticker) it's sufficient to "soften" the skates enough to be well formed.

I did the backing a second time, but if I stand up, I already feel that's still too tight.

Why the backing has to be done while seating and not by standing? by standing the foot becomes larger...

Can the backing be done many times?

Do you all backed following the CCM procedure?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I think you didn't have them baked nearly long enough. I look at what a few members said in this thread:

http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...amp;hl=reloaded

seems like 7 mins at 175°F, or 4 minutes at 200°F preheated.

I did 6 minutes at 175 Fahrenheit in a LHS skate oven. Might be around 79 or 80 celsius. That worked well for me. I sat in them for about 15 minutes and then when cooled some I got up and walked around for about 10 or so minutes.

I had some pain in the arch area too. I had them punched a bit there and I put in some Shock Doctor insoles and they feel good now.

yes, stay seated even after the skates are cool. The resins and glues are still not set up yet. Just let them sit overnight and they will be fine.

Ok, many thanks!

This evening I will retry with 7min @ 175°F.

Do you recommend to stay seated?

I have some of these on order, please post and let me know how you find it.

Hi again,

I backed the skates 7min @175°F (80°C). Skates was really soft. Fitted and laced immediately.

It's quite difficult to say if they are good now (before was hurting a lot on the arch area).

If I stand up I still feel some pressure on the arch area, but will judge when I go to the ice next time..

I'll Keep you informed

i as well as a couple of my teammates wear the ccm u+ pro reloaded.

From experience these skates will hurt your feet a lot the first couple skates, however once you get through that pain, the skates are great!

That's just your personal experience. My son wore his from day one without any pain.

Exactly my experience with my pair. I had to stretch and punch the skates many times for them to be wide enough though. It was an e width too.

So, I'm just back from a Hockey game. Skates are now almost perfect.

Maybe I overtight them just a little bit too much.. But I think in the next game they will be OK. They just need 1-2 games to break in.

No pain at all in the arch area (like it was before).

So my conclusion is: 7min @ 80°C (175°F).

Do not follow the CCM procedure of 2min at 93°C (200°F). This is really too less to have the skates enough soft for moulding to the foot.

Thanks again for the advices!!

I recently purchased the ccm u+09 a few days(2) ago and skated in them tonight for the first time. I have got to say, they feel amazing. After baking at my lhs when I purchased them and wearing them at home a few times the break in period lasted all but 20 minutes.

When I purchased them I tried on the flexlite 4.0 and the u+09 and the U+ fit like a sock on my foot. I was actually surprised at how well they fit right out of the box given they had not been baked yet. The baking was that extra snug fit that sold me on them. Personally I went in to buy the flexlite 4.0 and even after an employee recommended a more narrow fitting skate for my foot I still wanted to Bauers because of their look. Sad but True. Am I glad I took the advice in the end.

What I am curious about is how the U+09 compares to the pro model and if another skate is in the market around the same price range as the price of these 2 skates was the absolute I was willing to spend.

Note - I "Believe" that the skates were baked for 5 min (temp unknown) and fitted on my feet for 15 min.

On the U+ 2009 model has anyone noticed the placement/alignment of the carbon fiber outsole (the bottom of the skate). Some line up from heel toe toe evenly and others not all the way to the tip of the boot. One pair an extra visible rivet hole is seen. This leaves a small gap between the plastic holder and the toe end of the boot cause the carbon fiber is shifted back. Blades still line up straight though. Just a cosmetic observation. For my foot this has been a very comfortable fit!!
