VN Intake pro stock helmet

How does the sizing run on these? I'm in a medium V08 now, almost all the way open, looking for the equivalent in a VN mission intake.

I think HM has a killer deal on the Mission pro helmets in VN and normal padding. I was told the VN version is a little looser fit than the equivalent normal one.

haha thats what I was scoping out, the hockey monkey stuff. I'll probably go with a medium. Still looking for a v08 sizing chart somewhere to compare to an Intake one.

Edit: Anyone have any rough idea how an Intake fits compared to a CCM v08? Ive tried on the intake fusion, but Im not sure how that stacks up to the VN intake. Just trying to educate myself on the sizing before i drop $40 on a helmet.

I have both v08 and intake fusion they are both mediums. I would say that the intake is slightly smaller then the v08. I would think that unless you're in a v08 that is almost fully opened up that the same size intake would work.

also vn intakes are narrow as hell......i ended up cutting out foam from both sides.....getting killer headaches

Interesting to find that out. I waited and didn't find any pro Intakes so I went ahead and got a retail. I can't be happier. It fits very well and has great ventilation. I wonder how well the VN padding holds up?

If they are pretty narrow, 'm probably gonna go with a large. I tried on a large V08 a while ago adjusted as small as possible, and it was slightly too large, but just by a hair. I'll let you guys know how the large fits, and if its too big, maybe I'll throw it in the sell forum, who knows.

I wear a Medium bauer 4000 as small as it will go...I ordered a Medium VN, I wear a Medium regular Intake...Anyone know how the fit compares between these three?

I wear a Large 4500 as small as it gets but my VN Intake is a medium about 3/4 open. They're rather shallow. Just for reference Easton pro S9s are large about 1/4 open.

Got a semi-related question.

With the Bauer 5100 for instance, it's a deeper helmet but lacks occipital lock. Does the deeper helmet help the thing stay on the head in case of a fall?

I'm interested in trying a VN helmet out but don't want the thing to slide off.

Update...Just got mine today...Like It says I wear a 4000/4500 size medium on the tightest setting and I got a medium VN and it fits great on the tighest setting a little snugger than the 4000/4500 but still a great fit...

I just received my pro VN Intake last night. Most of the padding isn't glued in at all. It looked like a 3rd grader put the thing together between the padding and the screws rattling around in the box.

the helmet seemed to fit huge. i had to drill holes to make it smaller so it could fit my head.

I did end up getting a red Intake Pro Stock size L with the EPP padding to go with my retail black one.
