Bauer Custom made sticks

I'm 220 lbs and use a 77 flex One95. I'm 37 years old and play oldtimers where slapshots are a no-no. I love the snap of the 77 flex and it's still firm enough to take one-timers (waist high back swing). Just like in golf, so many people play the wrong flex because they can't tame their macho ego.

my god a 62 flex??? O.O

Who else uses a 70-77 flex now-a-days besides ovechkin? I haven't seen anyone else use a wet-noodle-like flex.

I'm 5'10", 175, and I use a 77 flex One95 and Vap XXXX, amd a 85 Easton SE. all seem the same to me

I'm all for the lower flexes too, got a 77 One90, 87 One 95, and 85 7k. From talking to a few guys in close with the canes, a lot more NHL'ers are going to more flex. But, they also can change out sticks daily if they wish.

I use lower flex too. I'm 6'1 but only about 170, but I've been using a 70 flex for the past few months. Dropped from an 85 to a 75, now to a 70. I've been using a Samsonov pro stock 87 flex that's cut down a bit, and I haven't been able to get used to the stiffness yet. I just can't get the pop on my shots I can with my whippy shafts.

but with a hook like that the flex should be irrelevant :P

but yea..im only 5'5" and i tried going down to a 77 but i didnt like it much. had to go back up to an 87.

but its all personal preference. ive seen guys my size use 102 and they can fire off wristers like its a 75. whatever works.

as for the bauerID thing. i really enjoy that feature. i used to love the p14 bugsy curve and i would just stock up on ID sticks because of it..

For anyone that is interested Great Skates does custom 40's BauerID's for $199, save a bit of money rather then buying straight from Bauer.

They only offer the curves they have on their iD program. They won't replicate a pro pattern for retail I believe.

& Malkin uses a 110 flex. I picked up a game used Nike-bauer one95 with his modified pattern that isn't the same as retail. Says on the stick 110 and it definitely feels like it too.

Well if you go through the program it looks like you can pretty much order any retail bauer curve, i think pro stock you would have to get a few strings pulled through bauer.

Yup. There definitely are some patterns on the iD program that you don't find in your usual LHS. But take the samsonov pattern for example. It's still a different retail pattern than the actual crazy curve he's got on his stick.

So, I still don't think it's possible to get some of the one-of-a-kind curves that the actual pro-nhl player uses.

where is JR's input? =p

They won't make you a pro stock stick. The options available on the iD program are all there to choose. The names that accompany the patterns are the same deal you get with all other retail patterns... it's marketing. If you still think the retail CCM Ovechkin pattern is the pattern he uses, you need to read a lot more threads on MSH.
