Bauer ID Backstrom Curve

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone would happen to have pictures of what the backstrom curve really looks like. I am thinking about getting an ID stick done, but would like to know how square the toe is and whether it really is a toe curve. Also would anyone have any pictures of the bugsy curve? thanks for any help.

Yikes, if thats the case im throwing that curve out of the realm of possibility. Only time I've ever used that curve I hated it. Anyone know about the Bugsy curve (P14 I Believe)

That curve is a pretty wicked curve and is close to the Warrior Smyth Pattern for curve and roundness of the toe

I don't believe you can order just a blade from the iD program. It would be worth getting your LHS to make a call to Bauer to find out for certain.

You wont because you cant.

When NBH had displays advertising the custom stick program they had on display all of the shafts and blade patterns you could get. When Bauer shed off the Nike branding, the machines became defunct and some stores let employees have at the blades, put them on the shelf, sold them online, etc. I have a few myself, love them. If you do come across some remember thay they are tapered blades and shafts, not standard sized.

And that's a damn shame to those of us who use two pieces. Bauer has lost any of my business in sticks for the foreseeable future, I get tapered shafts free since my dad uses top end Synergy OPS, which are easy to covert, leaving me only buying blades.

plus the up-sell they get for custom making them (Are they really pressed to order? I doubt that) and that goes directly to them... not that they need my 214 CDN dollars or whatever it costs.

I went through to see how much it was and it came out to 249cdn.

Here's my two P10's, one is a OPS one95 and the other is an ID shaft/blade 2pc.

In the id program they list the P10 as being a "long" blade. How does this compare to the P92 and P88 which are considered MED-LONG? How much longer is the P10 . I am concerned the blade length will be too long and hinder puck handling.

Thanks

They aren't really loosing business by not offering patterns that no one else offers.

I know, but they've lost any hope of my business. If they offered the ID program in blades, I would be buying from them, and not from easton. I know they're trying to force you to buy a OPS, but for me and probably a decent portion of customers, all it's doing is keeping me from buying bauer.

Not so much lost business as a lost opportunity.

Disregarding the round vs square toes, its about 1/2" longer than the p92.

They aren't trying to force you to buy anything. How is not offering 15 tapered blade options forcing you to buy anything? I don't see Easton, Reebok/CCM, Warrior, TPS/Sherwood or anyone else readily offering this service to customers. I don't see how giving people additional options in the OPS market is doing anything but helping out their customer base.

Go ahead and give Easton your business, they totally offer more than five retail blade patterns... Oh no, wait both Bauer and Easton both offer five blades at retail.
