RecLeagueHero 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Just curious if anyone around here plays flag football because I have an bit of an etiquette question. Got roped into playing with a friend's work team in a local flag football league and ended up playing as the QB. Watching a couple of the games after ours, as well as some of the PO'ed looks I was getting from the other team, I'm just wondering if the etiquette in FFB is to basically just throw the long pass constantly? I was throwing more for first downs and high percentage stuff, since that was were the pass coverage was weakest. They want me to QB again next week and I'd rather not be a douche. SuperMan3 1 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 If they were smart they would have adjusted their pass defence to cover the long pass.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Sounds like you made good decisions, nothing wrong with that.
PH_Hockey2 4 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Well it's football and that is the job of the QB is to throw completions and get 1st downs. I mean hell this is like getting mad at a goalie for stopping the puck.....

mik3 1 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 I play with the same guys every week. We tend to go short on first and second. Then, if we're not close to a first, we just air it out. Were you playing with guys in cleats? I'd understand guys in sneakers not being too big on crossing routes.
mack 44 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 I'd say fair play to what you guys did. As long as the WRs weren't doing rub routes you should be fine.
RecLeagueHero 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Sounds like you made good decisions, nothing wrong with that. That's what I figured, but I've got this thing where I don't want to be the guy taking slappers at drop-in when there's a standing "no slappers" rule.I play with the same guys every week. We tend to go short on first and second. Then, if we're not close to a first, we just air it out. Were you playing with guys in cleats? I'd understand guys in sneakers not being too big on crossing routes. It's actually on turf, the stadium is used by a few local high schools for football, soccer, and lacross. But the league rules don't allow crossing routes and it appears I have to throw to a girl on every 3rd play.I'd say fair play to what you guys did. As long as the WRs weren't doing rub routes you should be fine.Nah, wouldn't do that. Mostly streaking the wideouts and everyone else was just running posts at various distances on the field. They were basically playing with a strong and weak safety with the outside line backers deep. Also the guy with the best hands was a bigger guy who probably wouldn't have gotten open deep, but toss him something at 15 yards or so and pretty much a sure thing.
