grider18 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 gotta go with the AJHL on this one......
lampliter87 8 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 BCHL imo. CJAHL and OJHL are up there too.
grider18 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 As a league that produces National champs maybe but for an overall solid league the AJ is more evenly matched and produces massive amounts of schollys every year, as does the BCHL too.
Michael9 57 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 Is Quebec Jr.AAA( Jr.A for the rest of Canada) that bad, there the second biggest province and only like 2-3 players make the Jr.A national team, they never have any player drafted in the NHL like some of the other Canadian Jr.A leagues. Is it because NCAA is more popular in other provinces so top-tier players decide not to play in the CHL and play Jr.A so they can save there eligability? adam14 182 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 OJHL is probably one of the best skill wise. Greaqt hockey considering its tier 2, I have two friends in that leage, who played for orangeville and wellington, one is going full ride to miami of ohio, the other is going to brown. lampliter87 8 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 Wellington is one of the best organizations in a very good league.
adam14 182 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 I agree, the way theyu run that team is quite impressive.
tips09 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 I'm gonna have to say probably the BCHL and AJHL, I feel that top to bottom they are the 2 best leagues.

bednarz877 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 is the GOJHL any good?
sh0biz 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 bchl seems to produce the most amount of prospects every year.. i think they have the highest number of schollys every year. you dont hear about other player from minor junior A going in the first round of the nhl draft. with that being said there is probably some sick teams out there in some of the other leagues. But that has nothing to do with the depth of the league in general. USHL is a good league as well producing alot of good talent but they are not in canada. GSH13 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 Not trying to hijack this, but being from the US I don't get to see any Canadian Jr teams playing. Would leagues like the BCHL and AJHL be comparable to the USHL? Or the NA?
steve66 45 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 they would be comaprable to the BCHL and AJHL (which are two of the best tierIIs imo) and in fact there is some movement and recruitment across the border between the two leagues.
lampliter87 8 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 Personally I think the Canadian leagues are better than the stronger American leagues like the AJHL and EJHL.
steve66 45 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 by AJHL i meant the Alberta Junior Hockey League
mxihockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 BCHL is the best, AJHL (Alberta) is very good also. These two leagues are comparable to the NAHL and some of the lower teams in the USHL. But, USHL> then all. EJ is good, AJ (atlantic) is pretty shitty. Most of those tier 2 leagues are very good and send kids D1 but I would say BCHL is at the top if your looking at how many kids get college deals.
adam14 182 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 Last year a bunch of kids from the OP went straight to the NHL, nevermind D1.
mxihockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2009 Pretty sure that's not true... unless you're confused with the OHL.
adam14 182 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Pretty sure chicagos second round pick came from the OP not the OHL.
kovyperron5727 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Pretty sure chicagos second round pick came from the OP not the OHL.I think you may be right on this, but usually guys don't get drafted straight from the OPJHL

epstud74 24 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 The USHL is slowly catching up to the OHL/WHL etc, but not quite there yet. The BCJHL etc. sends a few to D1 college programs, but most of the programs I'm familiar with get their players from the USHL, High School, sometimes the NAHL.It could be a different story out east. adam14 182 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 I agree he may not be playing, but he still got drafted out of a tier 2 league.
mxihockey 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 I'm not surprised.. it's a good league, with lots of players that opt not to go major junior because they want to go to college. But, there were no kids that "went straight to the NHL".
