Old Easton Synergy SL durability?

Recommended Posts

Found a site clearing out Synergy SLs in all sorts of patterns for $100. I'd been planning on buying an 07 Z-Bubble and throwing a One95 blade in it, but then a buddy just bought the One95 shaft/blade combo and I love that too. However, with seeing this special this morning, it's lead me to wonder if I should just go this route. I'm off topic though.

How was the durability on these sticks? I thought I remembered them being more fragile, but I never had any firsthand experience with them. You guys are the ones to ask, so what did you all think of them? Lighter weight mean durability issues?

The site is gatewayhardware.com if you guys want in on it. Where do you find they commonly break? If it's blade-related, I have no problem turning it into a shaft.

Agreed. I loved the stick but all the ones I bought fell apart rather quickly. It was the stick that forced me to go to the two piece models because I couldn't afford to continue buying SL's. I still wouldn't pay $100 for them. If it was around the $75-85 price range then I'd say snatch em up.

One broke in the shaft, and I had an SE that was a painted over SL that broke in the blade. Although upon further inspection I found the shaft walls to be quite ridiculous reinforced on the inside, especially near the bottom half of the stick.

I would go for it. The blades are known to break, but it can easily be made into a shaft. I did that with both of mine and had them for a at least a year. Definitely worth it imo

If they are retail, in which case they have the 30 day warranty, I'd go for it. If they are pro-stock, personally I'd pass. I'll agree with the others, blade issues.

I had one almost 3 years back and i loved it, although durability was an issue as the blade broke a week after the warranty, but for 100 bucks i'd say go for it.

I jumped on the band wagon and picked up a 100 flex in the Gaborik curve:-) I'll make this puppy last.
