HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 24, 2009 I emailed Harrow about possibly getting custom wood blades done up, and they said they do offer them. I've used a composite Harrow blade and really liked it, but don't know anything about their wood blades. Does anybody have any experience with them? I didn't know Harrow made wood blades. I've kind of narrowed it down to Christian or Harrow, as I haven't heard back from Sherwood or TPS, and I don't think any local shops offer custom blades. Chadd 916 Report post Posted September 24, 2009 I had some Christian blades from the time they were owned by Harrow and I loved them. I have no idea what they sold to the new christian or whose is producing their blades the way mine were.
raganblink 82 Report post Posted September 25, 2009 Easton and Harrow make the best wood blades imo. Harrow has better return time however. if you go to your LHS and ask a manager they Should help you. companies rarely deal with GP but i think Harrow is the exception. Can't go wrong with Harrow woodies.
Jarick 5 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 I've had a couple blades, one was soft and flimsy, one was very durable and stiff and is still going strong.

OldNSlow 3 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 What kind of wood blades does Harrow make? I thought that the new Christian company now owns the Harrow factory that made the wood blades, therefore Harrow doesn't make wood blades. Perhaps they outsource to the new Christian company. I ordered customs from the new Christian company and have them sitting on my garage floor. They are NOTHING like the older Harrow/Christian blades so be careful! You don't want to be out $250 like I am. See http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...75&start=

HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Ontario, in fact, is what I was told. I wondered the same thing, but that rules out being made by Christian as they're in Minnesota.

shawn o 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Christian has been making wood hockey sticks and blades in Warroad, MN since 1969.That ended in early 2003 when they went bankrupt and the facility shut down.In late 2003, Harrow Sports bought the company and re-opened the factory and used the Christian name on their own composite sticks and shafts. In 2008, Harrow Sports sold the Christian brand to an unknown party here in MN. That party closed the old Warroad factory and moved it to Roseau, MN where they are making wood sticks again and supposed to be making their own composite sticks, shafts, and blades (Christian branded but made overseas). I saw samples almost a year ago but nothing is for sale yet.Not sure who is making Harrow branded wood sticks and blades now. Maybe Christian but for some reason I doubt that.Bauer shut down the Canadian factory in 2007. But employees bought Bauer out there completely and the company is now called Heritage Wood Specialties and is still employee run.
