One95 Shaft question

Recommended Posts

I have a question on the length. Some people are saying that the shaft with a blade is longer than a One95 OPS. Is this true or no? Im curious as the one95 was perfect length for me and I needed to move up to an 87. Don't want to ruin the flex of the shaft by cutting it. Thanks

The One95 shaft is 54" in length, uncut. The One95 blade will add 6", making the two piece setup 60" in total length.

I believe the One95 OPS is about 1 - 1.5" shorter than 60", but I can't be certain. I lined it up with an S17 and the One95 was shorter.

Thanks. Can anyone confirm for sure about the shaft/combo length compared to the one95 OPS.

TML, Inlinewarehouse states the size of the S19, and ST as 61", but the S17 as 60" so the Easton may in fact be longer than 60"

My friend has a one95 shaft with a Vapor XVI blade in it and his stick is about 2-2.5 inches longer than my one95 OPS. It may be because the XVI blade may be longer than normal, but i don't really know.

my one95 prostock is 65" uncut.

Your blade is going to add about 11-12" give or take (lie depending), with your shaft being roughly 53.5" to 54". Keep in mind i can't see the fuse point on the OPS. But i was also comparing it to a dolo OPS which is the exact same height, which i was comparing to a tapered dolo shaft that is about 53.5 inch and i can see the fuse point on the dolo OPS.

Just measure it to the bottom of the heel, not with the toe on the ground. It takes the lie out of the equation.

So I take it its longer?

Yes, by an inch or so tops. The shaft is 54" and the generic One95 blade is around 6" to the heel. That puts it right at the 60" listed as the same height for the OPS, but there's probably a slight difference.

The One95 and X60 shafts are both the same size I notice and both are longer than any Warrior/Easton/RBK shaft I've seen retail.

Can anyone confirm this?

Also, IW has the tapered shafts listed the same length as the one95 shafts. This can't be correct can it?

actually, i believe that is correct as the one95 is a bit longer than most standard shafts.

I just figured i would have to cut 2.5" off, which is a lot. I'm scared to move down because i had the 77 ops uncut and it was way too whippy. What does the 87 flex on the Supreme feel like?

Maybe I'll Just get a Johnson.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have a standard Vapor woodie blade I want to use, but I want a wippy stick. I currently love my Synergy II with the pro stock Dolo in it. The stick is a 70 flex, but I removes the 2" wood plug and cut around an in off the actual shaft.

So my question: How much does that mean I'd have to cut off the One95 shaft (3"?), and how much would that effect the flex? I might go with an intermediate shaft, but what length is that?

The One95 shaft does get stiff pretty quickly as you cut it down. I went from Easton SE one-piece in 100 flex to a One95 shaft in 87-Flex with a couple inches cut off and the stiffness is very comparable. The One95 shaft also holds its stiffness much better than the Easton SE - I used to go through them more for the unwanted softness over time than breakage. No such problems with the One95 shaft.

Ok, after checking the catalog, and taking a few measurements this is what I came up with (keep in mind I'm trying to get as close to my low 70's Saprykin stick, which is a Dolo pro stock blade):

Easton Syngery II shaft 70 flex= 52" (with 2" plug removed) - 1" cut so 51" total length.

Warrior Dolo Pro stock blade= 4.5-5", we'll just say 5"

Overall stick length about 55", low 70's flex.

Bauer woodie Vapor XVI= 6"

One95 Sr. shaft 77 flex= 54"

One95 Int. shaft 67 flex= 49"

Senior shaft will need to be cut (6"+54") 5"

Intermediate shaft will go uncut.

Now a final question: a 77 flex cut 5" would equal what? At least high 80's if not low 90's right?

I might just get both, make another toe I like, and have a whippy one and one that's around my normal flex. For now, however, I think I'll go with the Int.

I got a One95 shaft and wanted something whippier than the 100 flex Eastons I'd been using for years. I'm 5'9" and 175 lbs and take a ton of wristers/snappers, so I figured it was time for my stick flex to match that. I knew I'd have to take about 4" off a One95 shaft to match the playing height of my current shafts, so knowing this I went for it and bought the 77 flex. I was scared to death that it would be too whippy, but after taking off 4", the stated flex is marked on the shaft at around 92 at that point. If you ask me, it's much closer in feel to Easton's 85s, but that's fine with me. The 77 is whippy as hell, but stiffens up quickly when you chop it.

The One95 two piece measures at 60 1/2, give or take 1/2 inch. Not much different then the OPS.

However, when I cut it down to my length, it was cut down to a 90 flex (according to the Bauer ratting), but feels more like an 80 flex.

Was it the same length or close to an uncut stick? How much do you normally cut your OPS?
