Kessel Candy Cane

Recommended Posts

Sounds like for Kessle it is all mental. I can't see the tape greatly affect the flex, but I could see how it might slightly with his whippy sticks. (the tape would pull on the side that is expanding) Might not affect it greatly but could a little.

As for Cole it's pretty much just home made blade tape. Funny how the puck he was using is worn down from flattening the tape. Wonder if it's a "lucky puck" that he always uses?

I used one puck to rub on my tape for about three years...needless to say by the time I was done playing ice hockey in February...the puck was reduced to a small biscuit.

boy he looked nervous, and idk if anyone else is OCD about tape jobs, but he missed part on his blade; didnt overlap

Ya he forsure doesn't use that for his games. He probably tried to rush to impress people.

I've candy caned many non-grip sticks. I would say it adds 0.5 to the flex rating. So an 85 becomes an 85.5. This has been scientifically verified by me on the ice, so you can trust it.

I noticed that too, immediately thought "well, he's gotta redo it now."
