Tkachuk joins a pick-up game....

Recommended Posts

i love it when these guys do stuff like that.

brendan morrison and matt cooke joined a pick up game i was playing in once. they were going "our pace" for a while and after a about five minutes of everyone asking them to step it up to their level, they did, and it was pretty cool to be a part of. apparently mo used to drop in quite often.

i also played ball hockey with stu barnes ONE ON ONE for about 2 hours when i was younger. i had no idea who he was until the end when a guy and his son who were walking by asked for his autograph.

I like how everyone just kind of ignores him...let's him get into the play...and doesn't go "OMG...an NHLer...give him the puck and get out of the way"...they don't even seem to care when he skates up to the bench at the start of the video.

That's really cool that Keith Tkachuk hopped on the ice at Sharks Ice in San Jose the day after their win over the Sharks. Looks like the East rink to me.

How many guys did Cooke cheapshot? Now that I think about it, probably none since there would be no refs to hide behind.

i played with sasha lakovic on a regular basis years ago, same with aaron voros... sasha routinely beat the shit out of people during pick up games. the excitement of playing with a pro wore off pretty quick with that douche. aaron's game totally changed from the time he was playing in albany to when he became a regular in the nhl.

that was an awesome vid to watch. that first guy that took the pass from him in front of the net and passed it back looked like he knew it was...

man that would be an awesome story to tell someone...if they believed you lol

man it would be awesome if guys would come out to our shinny games like that...but late on a saturday night lol it would never happen.

My dad once saw Luc Robitaille skating around at Chelsea Piers in New York. It was just him and some little kid though on the ice I believe.

It's actually crazy how many hockey celebs I've seen skating at chelsea piers. I've seen more NHLers and ex NHLers there than I have fingers and toes.

You've seen more than 16 NHLers play there? Damn! ;)

Even if you weren't counting the thumb as a finger (it is one, contrary to popular gotchas), the big toe still counts.

No i know, was trying to make a funny saying i only had 4 fingers and a toes for each side...

A couple of summers ago Brandon Dubinsky played about 3 or 4 games with our summer league team at the behest of his brothers and dad who were also on the team. It was pretty fun. What I enjoyed the most is how his brother Bobby's goal celly's were edited for coolness while his brother was playing with us. Naturally, I had to blow up his spot along with everyone else on our team. We told him we missed his usual huge celly's and to stop trying to be cool lol His brother chimed in to beak him as well. Very well played.
