Bauer Supreme TotalONE

Yeah that was what I was looking for. Why such a limited run? Are they testing the waters as far as the price of them goes or just tougher to make?

I don't think it's anything more then just a limited edition skate. Same with Ferrari and Lamborghini, they only make so many cars a year. My understanding was Bauer only made 7500 pairs of the limited edition X:60 and they're only making 3500 pairs of the TotalOnes

EDIT: Correction on the total pairs made of TotalOne's.

Wait, hold on a second, as president Obama said, are you guys saying that after the 3500 pairs of TO are sold... that's it? This is a whole different situation with the TO, the X:60 LE were only 7500 pairs, but after they were sold you can still get the regular X:60, which is the same skate. The TO is a whole different skate, not only a paint job, and I don't think that Bauer is going to say... "Well we're sorry we don't want your 800$ for a pair because we already have enough money, so no, you can't have any more TOs". Let's not forget that we're talking 3500 pairs for a 2 year cycle and since you brought cars up, I don't think it's the same case as it is with the Veyron, where it cost more for them to produce the car than the price they were selling it for.

Pretty sure I only said Ferrari and Lamborghini, and I never mentioned Bugatti. Most people that wanted TO's and were planning on buying them already have them (I would think). And JR said his number might be US only. So I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions as no one knows what Bauer might do except for Bauer. They may release more pairs. Or they may only do 3500, call it a day, and go on to a new skate. It wouldn't be that ridiculous as it creates a high demand and is a limited edition skate, and at a new price point that is unexplored in the market. Better to have demand and limited stock then no demand and lost of it, right?

Either way if you want a pair I'd say you're probably going to want to get one sooner than later, and not waiting until they go to closeout.

The Total One has already been a huge win for Bauer. Look at how many folks here haven't been deterred by the price tag. Not only that but suddenly the One100 is going to look like a bargain and probably sell like hot cakes since folks can get most of the Total One features for about $200-250 less.

Are Reflex tongues an option on custom One100s? The only reason the do such a short run of a skate with so much hype already is it's just marketing and testing for the fusion steel and reflex tongues.

They may be "limited," but at this point at least they are readily available.

I was sent a brand new set of One100s as a warranty replacement for some One95s. I asked my shop if he'd be willing to let me pay the difference to a TO since he'd have a brand new pair of One100s he could sell and he said yes. But, he hadnt pre-ordered any wides.

So he called Bauer right there, they said they had PLENTY of spare stock including the 7 EE I needed and they'd ship Tuesday.

Funny thing is, they'll get here before his large pre-order as that was not scheduled to ship to him before the end of the week. :D

So it sounds like there is plenty of stock left to sell beyond the original orders placed.

You can't do custom one100s. Only TotalOnes or X60s. And I'm sure that those two items have been tested enough that there wont be any problems with them. We're talking about Bauer, they spend more in R&D than everyone else combined. I have complete confidence that the steel and tongue and all of the skate will hold up fine.

I was refering to the Veyron because I don't think it's the same case with the TO, meaning I don't think it costs Bauer more than 800$ to produce the skate, as it is the case with the Bugatti. You are right about the offer and demand, I was just saying that if there is a demand in the future I don't see why Bauer wouldn't produce more pairs, after all we are talking about skates here that at one point they're going to get replaced with newer ones. They're not limited edition watches, they're just skates. I don't want a pair since I have a Vapor foot. I can't wait for the 2013 edition Vapors  , no need for the 2011 yet :P . Cheers

I think a lot of shops wanted to see how they did with a smaller order. The last thing they want is to get stuck with $800 skates that they'll have to close-out.

From what I heard the min order was 20 skates and two shops I've been to since the release date didn't order any. Which makes it rough because to even try these on I would have to take of work or take an very extended lunch. Plus some time if I like them to get them baked and stuff.

I realize that. I was just stating that even though they're billed as LE, due to ordering or whatever, it sounds like there are a lot to be had without waiting if a certain size or width needs ordering. Its not like if the shop didnt order any, they arent going to be able to get them now.

Min order was 24 pair which eliminated many shops right away. If I'm not mistaken you had to do the initial booking in order to be able to have access to the available stock.

As far as I've seen they are available on the Holiday Booking as well which would lead me to believe they aren't as scarce as we first thought. I could be wrong though.

Thankfully the TO's don't come in juniors, so that temptation doesn't exist. However, the One100s feel like they were made for my foot. Damnit!!

Your shop is in canada, right? Our minimum order was 18. You had to do initial order to be able to get into stock. It would make sense if a lot of shops decided to do a minimum or a near minimum of them, to then refill if the skate is selling well, and to not refill if it is a flop. I think we were all nervous on the qty. to get, as we weren't sure how the economy would do/how skate will sell. So nervous to say that we decided not to get any, more so on we didn't have the money at the time rather than the possibility to sell them.

Well, I've heard of a some stores that unable to order any more at this time, but I honestly could see Bauer going either way with either selling more or not. Although at this time I'm more interested in whether or not this technology will be added to the Vapor line of skates.

To what technology are you refering to more exactly? The way I see it they have stuff for the Supremes and stuff for the Vapors. They did not put in the TO the dual density foams or the idea of the dual liner. Right now I think it's safe to say that the new Vapors are going to have LS2 holder with fusion steel, dual density foams, carbon outsole, dual liner and the speed wrap toe cap. I'm pretty sure that they won't have the reflex tongue, maybe the formfit3. I'm saying they're not going to have the reflex tongue, because the way I see it the Vapors is the more traditional skate, as the Supreme is the more anatomical, ergonomic and customisable skate. It would be nice for them to come with all new tech for the Vapors and a decent price tag

I guess you're right, some of the technology won't really translate well to a vapor skate. But I would think that they would have to have something to compete with the TotalOne, right?
