bostonjuniorblackhawks 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 USA v CANADA, Take 2. USA Beats Sweden to advance to take on Canada for the Gold Medal. Can't Wait!I can't wait as well. I didn't watch much of the first canada vs us game. Tonights game was very entertaining. My buy krieder didn't do as well as I thought he would. jerry d'amigo's snipe towards the end of the game was sick. Anyone know where he plays?

KevinVu19 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 The world juniors are going to be great in Buffalo. I think we're a bigger hockey town the Detroit and Pittsburgh. The atmosphere is going to be great also.If you watch any Red Wings game, you'll see that they don't have a sell out crowd. I watched them I think 3 times this year, and It looked pretty much, empty.WILDS= That arena is packed every nightAVS= Another good place for the WJHCThere are many more, lol Just saying :).USA VS CANADA Championship Final, Damn that is going to be fun to watch. Ahriman 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 $100 *FOR TV PROGRAMMING* might as well be a thousand for the vast majority of people. $100 to blow on TV programing, jesus.Um, No. It is not even close to a thousand dollars for me. And just as an FYI for you since you obviously aren't real aware of your options, you can get the Choice Extra Package from DirecTV for $34.99 a month with the NHL network which would let you see about 8-10 WJC games.Hi. You're not really getting it. I don't have $40 a month I can blow on TV. Any package worth a damn from most companies fall into the category of "nontrivial expense" for a vast majority of people. By all mean's pat yourself on the back for having a job that pays well enough you can blow money on 'additional' cable packages, lots of us don't or can't justify $34.99 a month to watch 8 hockey games. You come on here complaining about how expensive it is to see these games. When a couple of guys point out the actual costs of getting NHL network, you take shots at them for what they "BLOW" their money on. If you cant afford it or dont think its worth it, thats fine, but dont take shots at people trying to help.

A friend of mine ordered it and is dropping it after one month. $40 is not bad for roughly 10 hockey games. At any rate how bout we get this back to talk about the game itself. Canadian fans have been brutal on the USA players. Maybe they do not want to play them again?

mnpucker 33 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 Any chance for the world juniors to be held in MN any time soon?I think the problem with Minnesota is that the X is always being used during the holidays. I would hope the Schwans cup ( High School tourney being played over the same time frame at the X) would not interfere with getting the Juniors but it may. Marriucci is not big enough in my opinion to do the event justice. What is left? Target Center sucks as a hockey venue.I do hope it comes but it may be a couple years and likely on a non-olympic year, it would get sold out without doubt. Skoda10 14 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 Unforunately I'm sensing a Canada win, probably easily, 5-1ish. We (the US) seem to have a hard time being anything but the bridesmaid when it comes to hockey.Maybe I'm wrong though and this will be one of those times we step up and win. The oylmpic squad on the other hand............thats the only time ill be happy when krapasarek screws up lolyou saw it coming though (the hit on hamonic) the swiss started to get real chippy and were hitting all tournament. that neiderrider kid was working on canada the whole game.sad that would happen to hamonic though...that eberle hit was uncalled for too...i think they were saying the kid turned into it though...either way not really necessary.hopefully Canada can take it...but every time i say that the feeling in the gut comes backbtw the US did beat canada a few years back if i recall...when fleury put the puck in off his own player...i forget what year that was.man o man is that US team fast this year. chippa13 1844 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 I expect Canada to win. The US forwards have a bad habit of skating the puck into trouble or trying to make moves instead of putting the puck to the net and then going after it. Canada plays a more under control game and have a little more finish ability.
Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted January 4, 2010 The U.S. appear to have bred forward lines of slightly taller Jason Blake clones.
althoma1 574 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 I didn't see the whole Canada/US game on NYE (saw the first half), but the U.S. team looked pretty damn good and had some very fast players. This game could definitely go either way. Obviously I'm hoping for Canada, but it won't be a cakewalk...I'm planning to record the game since I have a beer league game at the same time, but it'll be hard to get back from the rink without hearing the result.
