Edge Again Sharpener

I just recieved my power unit and it has been great! It was a huge savior in the middle our last game when I blew a tire. I also find it great in between sharpens, easy to use and brings my Edge back to the perfect sharpness. Its not too sharp as a sweet stick would if too much pressure applied. Did you guys see this video? It looks like trainers in the NHL are using this frequently.............

I had something very similar about 10 years ago. it was called The Mosquito. we had to stop using it because we couldn't find the inserts anymore.

Oh...my didnt think this was going to work at all.

And anyone that knows me I would rather sharpen but I have to say I am very very pleased with this.

I no longer carry a stone just the manual version on the bench and unless its a huge gash on the blade they get this till the end of the period with my teams this year.

I would HIGHLY recommend this tool!

I recently bought a PLAYER model Edge Again (the black one), IIRC it was on sale from their website for $39.95 and I must say it works as advertised and I'm very happy with it. The closest hockey store/sharpener is an hour away and I bought this thinking I could maybe get my skates done professionally every 2 months or so and use the Edge Again to maintain... So far it's worked wonderfully and very easy to use. I run it over 6-8 times before each game and it's as good as professionally done...

I also highly, highly recommend it. Just don't bring it to games and let your teammates know about it, otherwise I promise you they'll all want to use it and you'll have to order the $30 replacement grinding mechanism the next day!

Question for those that have it or know the product ... does it work on FBV sharpenings? I am not that knowledgeable in sharpening but switched over to FBV and I love it. Problem is I usually am too busy to get out to the one quality place around me that does a good job. Would this manual machine keep the edge good enough until I can get a professional sharpening?

Don't use it on FBV.

And with a regular ROH, I was falling all over the place after using the Edge Again.

I have the electric model and cannot say enough about it. It is awesome. It does not sharpen the skate it doe not touch the hollow it is almost like a supercharged stoning of the skate. You need to use it for at least 30 to 45 seconds for it to be effective.

I was told it works the same on FBV as ROH because it only sharpens the edge and not the hollow. I ended up getting one to try and it works great! It keeps my edges a perfect sharpness (not too sharp but not too dull). I would recomend to anyone.

Interesting; you were warned in 2010 for spamming threads about Edge Again...and tonight you've posted in two more and are currently searching a 3rd.

Pretty pathetic people have to stoop to methods like this.
