HockeyPho85 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 Ok. So What are your views on these manners in the arena?I was watching a game last night and these annoying guys and girls were making out and drinking beer so loud, that they were standing on the chairs and not even watching the game, not to mention blocking my view. As a hockey enthusiast I had to say something, I told them to sit their asses down hahaha. I was getting annoyed... it was during the ducks vs sabres game....btw I'm a kings and sabres fan haha. But I do show respect to everyone watching the game. not like those annoying kids. I was just frustrated cause the girls kept standing on their chairs , not to mention its like row 445 so they coulda died if they fell.. haha I dont know I just wanted to see some hockey played without blocking my view. what kind of stuff happens to you all? Has there been a point where you guys and girls ever argued or went crazy? haha And what do you think of those people that just go to hockey games to make out and get drunk and be obnoxious. ? JDeezy 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 I agree 100. The way I see it is if you're there doing anything OTHER THAN watching the game, you're pretty much a distraction. I never understand how people spend money on decnt seats to have their kids act a fool at the games. (standing on seats, running around, misbehaving, etc.)

wildebeest 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 In my experience, you're supposed to yell out "CAREFUL, THERE'S ICE RIGHT THERE!!" every time somebody falls down, you MUST stand up and start throwing wild punches in the air and screaming at the top of your lungs whenever even the smallest tussle breaks out and make sure everybody around you hears you ask out loud "HOW MUCH TIME IS LEFT?" at exactly 1:03 left in the period, so when the announcer comes over the PA, you and your bluetooth headset-wearing, double-fisting, custom Blackhawks jersey-wearing buddies can guffaw loudly. At least that's what I've noticed at Jobing.com whenever the 'Hawks are in town. Phantom 19 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 I think that behavior is obnoxious, but I've never seen it in person. I saw an Avs game last weekend and couldn't stand those who felt the need to coach from the stands.

Phantom 19 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 Yes... Geniuses on both sides.Avs fans: "GET HIM!" "SHOOT IT!" "HEY, HE'S SCREENING THE GOALIE!" Wash and repeat about 45 times throughout the game.Devils fans: "GO DEVILS! COME ON, DEVILS! LET'S GO GUYS! GOOOO DEVILSSSS!!!"I'm a die-hard Devils fan, but I think the professional athletes already know that they need to "go." I don't think constantly shouting at them from five rows behind the bench is really going to help. Plus it makes me want to punch the offending fan in the face, and we're technically on the same side. Just watch and enjoy the game already.
flyers10 57 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 I was at the Yotes/Sabres game the other night. (We took a shellacking). Anyways, there were 5 Sabres fans behind us. 4 guys and 1 of the guy's wife. The guys were cheering on the Sabres in normal fashion but the lady was screaming at the top of her drunk lungs all 60 minutes in the most annoying voice. The guy next to me moved his seat after 1st period and the lady's husband told her 3 or 4 times to chill out and knock off the cursing. Every 3rd word seemed to be F this and F that. YOU DONT GET ANY POINTS FOR PASSING!"a few rows ahead of him, an older guy stands up, faces him and says calmly:"...actually, you do. it's called an assist"the majority of the section applauded him. I know a guy who was kicked out of a Sharks game for leaning too far forward and being obnoxious about it. Oh, and he was wearing a Wings jersey. :D

Blue&Gold 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 I especially hate people at the local ECHL games in Elmira yelling for Elmira to shoot when they are trying to set things up on the PP. It is extremely annoying to be waiting for a snipe with some idiot yelling at them to spam poorly placed shots.
sectachrome 40 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Shut the hell up and watch the game. Cheer/boo when appropriate.
Gummer12 134 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 What always gets me are the idiots that stand up and wave their arms when the play goes by them so they can be on Camera. I Get it from a 10 year old who might do it Once? But every time the play goes by? Also, when there's a battle for a puck on the boards, and the guys behind the glass start banging on the glass, and anyone Yelling Anything from behind the glass...one piece of advice, They can't Hear you. dsjunior1388 81 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Shut the hell up and watch the game. Cheer/boo when appropriate.I may be in the heavy minority here but I hate booing 95% of the time, regardless of it's an opposing player or coach, your player or coach, or worst of all, the referees. I guess I can stand booing the opponent because they're the opponent, but when I see Wings fans booing Hossa everytime he touches the puck, like he owed them (us) something, it makes me sick. He was great for us, and he played through a huge injury to try and win the cup. Point blank we couldn't afford to keep him. Thats the Salary Cap era for you. It was worse with Fedorov. The guy scored 399 goals in the Wings uniform, played great in the playoffs and we wouldn't have won three cups without him. Besides that, when he left for Anahiem and then moved on to Columbus and Washington his prime abruptly ended so he really did us a pretty huge favor. And I really hate when refs are booed because a huge majority fans haven't the slightest clue how hard or thankless the job is no matter what level. I got berated reffing 5 and 6 year olds who spent the whole game falling down, I can't imagine it feels any better for Bill McCreary who is legitimately great at what he does and gets shit whenever the call goes the wrong way. ( and by wrong I mean against the home team, not incorrect)
Apes44 7 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 The guy who thinks he knows hockey (trying to impress his date) and tries to say how the refs missed an icing call when the team on PK dumps the puck and llther various "missed calls" If you are such a great ref why arent you out there doing it? goblue9280 33 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 If you're genuinely into the game, I usually don't have a problem, but my 2 least favorite hockey game attendees are:1. Guys who get tanked to the point that they can't find their car in the parking structure after the game. In one wings game I attended, I saw the same two guys wandering around (obviously tanked) on every level of the Joe Louis/Cobo parking garage looking for their car as I slowly made my exit after the game. Another time the guy parked next to me showed up to leave at the same time I did and asked me (reeking of beer) if there were any ladies in my car, when I answered no he promptly unzipped his pants and relieved himself on his front tire.2. The guys/girls who look like they came straight from the martini bar and would show up sometime during the end of the first period and are gone by the start of the third. They usually take the shuttle buses (I hope) in from the downtown Detroit bars... have a few mixed drinks at the game... and then head back to the bar. They knew very little about hockey and never followed the action... they were only there because it was a sort of social symbol to be at the game... very prevalent at wings games during the late 90's.Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a beer or two at hockey games. But its never more than 2 (especially if I'm driving) and I won't drink one during the 3rd period.
Jarick 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 Considering I have to drop $100-125 on a pair of tickets, parking, and a couple drinks/food, plus find a sitter, drive to and from the game, pick the kid up, and still go home, I don't think I'll ever have more than two $8 beers at a game.
