Bauer denies stick return

Recommended Posts

I sent a broken vapor xxxx still under 30 days back to bauer around Christmas. Usually there turn around is great and I see a new stick in less than a 10 days. I emailed them after no stick return in over a month. They told me they don't accept hand written receipts? The only shop I go to writes all of there receipts, so what to do? I would like something in return for my stick seeing as I never had a problem before with them accepting hand written receipts and also there website doesn't list anything about hand written receipts. anyone else have this happen? Should I tell the shop I go to, to give me a better proof of purchase next time?

Maybe have the shop contact Bauer?

Hopefully you get helped out with this.

I was talking emails back and forth for an hour on friday, and as soon as they said its hand written they ignored me emails. I have sent them 3 since then and no responses. I am pretty annoyed seeing as they have no listing of "no hand written receipts" I never would have sent my stick to them, I would have kept it for a shaft.

Try calling...

The handwritten receipt thing is odd and I can see why Bauer won't honor them. Contact your shop and try to get them to help. If you are running into this issue there are certainly others who shop there that are too.

If they won't honor the warranty I'd assume they have to send your stick back.

All of the companies are very clear in their warranty statements that they will not return a stick sent to them for a warranty claim under any circumstances.

Point is moot b/c he said he cut the thing in half to reduce shipping costs. Sucks for the OP but I can't blame Bauer for not taking a hand written receipt. Hard to believe they ever did. Put the pressure on your LHS to help you otherwise you'll never get anywhere. Their warranty policy, their rules so that fight would likely be long and fruitless.

I would go into that shop. Tell them bauer doesn't accept hand written receipts, and to get on their computer and print you something up.

probably wont happen now, the claim has been closed by bauer. what the shop should do is get with the times... and possibly realize that their way of doing business isn't in line with the brands in which they support.

i have a few accounts that don't use email and i found THAT annoying. i thought having to decipher hand written orders were the frustrations of our forefathers.

What does the warranty cover?

Bauer Hockey, Inc. will provide a one-time replacement of your composite stick/shaft/ replacement blade, if broken due to a manufacturing defect WITHIN 30 DAYS from the date of purchase. The original receipt must be sent along with the serial number sticker, which should be adhered to the receipt, this must match the serial number on the stick. You must return your stick, blade, shaft to Bauer within 14 days, from the date the return was created. You must send, at your expense, the product along with the serial number sticker, Please note that upon examination, if Bauer Hockey determines that there is a manufacturing defect, we will ship the same or equivalent model stick/shaft/replacement blade to the address you provide. We must have a full mailing address; we cannot ship to box numbers. Visa, MasterCard or bank statements are not accepted as receipts. Receipts must have the store name and address on them.

It doesn't say anything about it having to be a computer generated receipt. I would phone back and speak too a supervisor. If he is no help, just keep going up the line till someone is helpfull.

I'd say if you can't get anywhere with Bauer over the phone, talk to the shop mgt and see what they can do. I just sent in a broken One 95 and had a new one waiting for me 5 days later. No BS, no questions. But it was a computer generated receipt. good luck, and remember the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

is there anyway to check the status of a return through bauer? i sent back my "mybauer" stick last week and was wondering if there was anyway to tell if they accepted or denied my return instead of waiting the 3-5 weeks for my replacement.

If you got issued an RA# (return authorization), then you could most likely call Bauer to check the status of your warranty consideration. If you did not receive an RA# or if they don't issue an RA# for warranty considerations, then most likely you could still call (however, they may have a hard time checking the status of the warranty consideration).

My LHS still uses written recepits. If you paid via credit/ Debit card you would have gotten a seperate slip from that transaction - maybe submit the itemized statement form the CC co or you bank in support of you claim?

per, bauerhockey warranty page

Also, I paid cash for the stick... go figure

Theres a difference between a statement and a CC/Debit reciept.
