X60 Stick

Recommended Posts

I have owned every stick we are taking about except the x60 and I do not think the easton se16 is pingy at all. Very very close to the one95 IMP... Both great.. The S17 however is the pingy-est stick I have put my hands on. Imo if you have soft hands it could be great stick but for me I like a dampened feel. I will be staying far away from the X60... Thx TBL

I have both a one95 as well as a X:60, among other sticks if you need an in-depth comparison. I've never going to say that a stick shoots great, but I will rate the kick it gives, ie the response from my normal shot.

The X:60 - Stiff blade, pingy feel(very little feedback, similar to a S17 for example), flex feels a hair stiffer than rated. Kick is hard and release is quick. It's not a bad stick by any means.

The one95 - Stiff blade, dampened feel(it almost feels ceramic but it has tons of feedback), flex is concentrated in the hands making it feel and play softer than the rated flex. It kicks hard, you can notice the lag of the shot with the flex in your hands. I wouldn't say the release isn't quick but it just doesn't feel(in your hands) as quick as the X:60, for example.

I prefer the one95, the blade on it is money. It's also super easy to shoot with, it feels like it takes less effort to get the same amount of power out of the stick... That does not mean that it "shoots harder," it's just easier to load. ...Because of the flex properties, the X:60 is nice for me at 87 flex and the one95 is 95 flex.

I did not get to shoot, but I was ligthly stick handling with the green biscuit with the cl+ lecav curve and x60 p106 yesterday and now I understand what you mean TBL when you say pingy! It doesn't bother me, but it is a huge difference from the supreme line. Kinda like aluminum bats vs wood.

So tonight I was about to buy a x:60 shaft with Datsyuk 8k blade. After issues with adding a plug(none fit, senior was too fat, and intermediate wiggled too much.) I opted out. I am 6'7 so the length was a deal breaker. The shop was cool enough to not make anything of it. But, too answer previous questions about the feel and flex, it is not the same as the one piece x:60! The flex point seems much lower and doesn't feel like it would have nearly as much snap! Now all I did was flex it by hand, but it felt way off from the one piece.

Would a 4in extension be too small?

I bought an X60 about 10 days ago. Felt fine during warmups, playing forward, D gives me a nice hard pass as I'm circling preparing to leave our zone. Puck hits me right in the blade, just bounces off of it, puck goes back towards our goalie and I'm going the opposite direction. Opposing forward scoops up puck and goes short side. We end up losing the game 3-2. I gambled with a 77 flex, 195 lbs but I don't take slap shots and rarely take one timers, mainly snap and wrist shots but I have to say so far it is a lively stick. I put in a composite butt end to make it a little longer, on the heel too much, have 2 games today so I'm excited to see how it works out.

Just figure I'd throw this out there but Bauer is doing in Canada not sure about USA but they have some LHS's that have Demo X60 sticks available for customers to use for 7 days, the program is on until the 22nd of March so this is a great thing for Bauer to do to promote there new stick and try and gain some market share for consumers.

i have a 77 flex x:60 beast and a s19. i have been scoring from every angle with that x60 i dont know if its the stick or if im a good player or maybe the goalies just suck. its confusing me emotionally but at the end of the day i know im scoring. lol. it has great feel for a stickhandler and it recieves passes with ease. i prefer it over the s19 easton is a back up stick.
