Easton Chara and Heatley curve 2010

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the new Chara curve from Easton/or seen it in person? Is it truly a lie 5 like the zetterberg? What is the profile/rocker like?

Also, I have heard rumors that they have lengthened the Heatley and it is now longer than the iginla, almost comparable to rbk p38. can anyone confirm this?

Not much out there for lie 5 players such as myself.

Cheers

I've seen both on several STs and replacement blades at the local Total Hockey location. They're differentiated a lot more now. Still similar, but not the same as they nearly were.

I don't remember which is which, but one is merely a more aggressive and slightly more open version of the other. Blade length and lie are different as well.

Is anyone able to post pictures of the new Chara and Heatley curves? I would like to know whether the Chara curve is more of a mid-toe curve than the other mid-curves on the market. Thanks in advance.

Slightly OT, are you going to add Harrow curves to the DB?

Jarrick, any idea how the Chara or Heatley compare to the Harrow #4? That is my favorite curve.

I was at Ice Den just outside of Phoenix a few weeks ago and snapped a photo of the Chara pattern on the Easton ST.

Looks like the p88 and the new kovalchuk to me.

Seemed similar to me too...

The Heatly is longer than in the past and seemed a bit more open too.

Are they the same as Christian's?

They seem pretty close but have a lot more curves.

I've used the #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 and they are all pretty much as described on their site, should be easy to put into the DB. Although I'd call the #4 a straighter mid-toe. The lies are pretty accurate too.

That Chara looks purdy...glad to see Easton is making curved blades again.

They are the same as the Christian, they were sold under both names for a while before they Christian name was dumped.

I know I was just saying there's a few more curves up on the Harrow site.

Here's my take on the others:

#2 - Mid - Deep - 9/16" - Closed - Medium - 6 - Round

#6 - Mid - Moderate - 1/2" - Open - Medium - 5.5 - Round

#7 - Heel - Deep - 1/2" - Open - Long - 6 - Square

And I'd probably change the #4 to:

#4 - Mid-toe - Slight - 1/2" - Slightly Open - Long - 5.5 - Round

Can anyone confirm that the length of the Heatley curve was indeed made longer? I like the curve, but also like long blades. The Heatley blades have always been shorter than standard lengths. Thanks in advance.

I had purchased a 2010 Heatley blade and it is definitely longer than before. I had to return it though because the lie was a 5 and I need more of a 5.5 or 6.

The Heatley is longer than before, as well as having a new profile and curve. It resembles the P88 loosely, but with a less open face. Basically just a very simple mid curve.

How does the 2010 Heatley curve compare to the Tavares CCM? The Tavares seems to be more of a deeper (barely), mid-toe curve compared to the Reechi, which it replaced. On another thread, someone said that the 2010 Heatley was similar to the Reechi. The Reechi barely had any curve to it.
