RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 What are you thoughts on the up coming world cup of soccer and who do you tihnk is going to win itI work with an over zealous Italian and a Women of Porteguese decent. I won't enjoy it at all. I do have a co-worker who's in-laws live in South Africa. He is going over, and I believe hads tickets to a few of the games. Should lead to some interesting stories
sickwilly 37 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 I'm really looking forward to the US-England game. I'd like to see a team other than Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France or Italy win it all.

daca 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Huge fan. It'd be cool to see an African team win it. History shows European teams don't do so well outside Europe. Can't wait to see all of the inevitable upsets.
Sambo Rambo 18 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 I would like to see Italy to win it but if that doesnt work out hopefully Brazil, but brazil can be like russia in hockey lots of superstars but not good as a team.
daca 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 brazil can be like russia in hockey lots of superstars but not good as a team.I think that distinction would have to go to England! That said, they have looked fantastic in qualifying, especially Rooney.
Habs21 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Yup, Rooney is incredible...BUT he's injured right now, isn't he? I think he busted his ankle a few days ago. Hopefully he'll be fine!

Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 And Fabregas blew his knee out taking a penalty yesterday, in an attempt to prove something to his fellow Spaniards since he'll miss the next match under suspension. Given that he just came back from a knee injury, his World Cup may be done anyway, even though they were somewhat unjustly pinning him to the bench internationally. Habs21 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Rooney will be fine for the World Cup :)"We're pleased to report that Wayne has not suffered a fracture. The scan revealed only minor ligament damage," United's website said Thursday. "For now, the club is not commenting on how many games Wayne is likely to miss." hehatemefrisbee 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 I plan on watching every game. This is the first time I have felt England have a legit chance to win it. We have the right coach, arguably the best player in the world, and our players all play in the best league in the world. This is our chance. And Fabregas blew his knee out taking a penalty yesterday, in an attempt to prove something to his fellow Spaniards since he'll miss the next match under suspension. Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 I'm excited. I don't follow much soccer really but I did go to some (now defunct) Wilmington Sharks games this summer an really enjoyed watching Euro 2008. This is the first time I'll really pay attention to the WC.

saba 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 I have Spain vs Brazil. An African country might surprise but I see not one getting by these 2 powerhouses in the semis. Will come down to spot kicks for one these 2 finalists. Iniesta being hurt does not help Spain. And no England will not show, you will here how the boys are getting beat down by the climate, DESPITE it being winter in the Southern hemisphere, love the British press
Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 Not just on MSH but anywhere, what is it about people cheering for other countries in the world cup. I can understand if you are native or have descent of that nationality. But my buddy was like "gotta cheer for France". I dont understand. He's not french. he was all about usa in the olympics, but now doesnt really acknowledge their soccer team.So my question: do you root for whatever your 'non-native country of choice' is in the olympics? Or is it just because the USA sucks internationally in soccer? I'm not saying i expect USA to win it all, or even their group, I'm just seeing a totally different mindset than in the olympics, yet the premise remains similar. Just curious...
