Which Skates

Recommended Posts

They have a new Razor blade holder, they majority of the skate is graphite. I think it'd be quicker to say whats the same on them.

They have a new Razor blade holder...lol its the same with flat head screws. The majority of the skate is graphite?...how much are we talking here?

Stop being lazy and look it up on your own.

I've heard you dismiss alot of these of these differences, but by your reasoning all skates are the same. They have a holder, blade and boot. Look through the pages, do the research, then come back, tell us why you feel there isn't a difference and then it'll have some merit. I'm not saying the Easton SyNergy skate will be better, but it is different.

That is correct! What is in the skates that will make you a better player?

Tell me what skates you use and why?

The skates that fit best are the best for you, none will make you a better player. There are also a few posts listing the skates that many of our members wear.

All I’m saying is the technology helping the skater or is it just something to help sell skates?

It's all marketing geared to sell more skates. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it isn't. Say what you want about the quality or the marketing but the Synergy and the Kor skates are both very different in construction from previous skates. Note I didn't say they were better, just different.

I use Graf 609's w/ Lightspeeds. I found these skates to suit my feet the best. i have a deep wide foot, which I've had trouble finding a good fit for. I originally had the Cobra's switched in favour of T'blades. I am not confident in the regional sharpeners and at least have a degree of consistancy with the T'blades. I recently had the T'blades switched out for Lighstpeeds, I felt too much of a forward Pitch and started sharpening my own skates so I am able to make sure I have exactly what I want done. I also have confidence to leave my skates in my shop to have them done because the staff is very well trained. I didn't goto these guys before because they are basically an underground shop. I opted for the 609's rather than the 709's because I pay for my own equipment, am fairly young, and this was my first pair of Grafs and I did not want to go top of the line before I was confident everything would be perfect. It is the one regret I have with the skates, that I did not go with the 709's because I like little more stiffness.

Anymore questions?

Remember the Vapor 8's! They were different but not better. They were crap and Bauer knew it and sold them anyway.

Alot of Pro's still wear those.

I tried on the XXX's on thursday, they are the most comfortable skates I've tried on right out of the box, for the past year I've been skating V12's, I've worn Grafs and these skates rock. I'm ordering my pair within the next week, the XXX's feel amazing although the price is really steep, a few bucks under 500 after tax.

The pros who had the old style Vapor 8's..likely had the Vapor 10 or XX materials in them..they were far from stock Vapor 8's..

maybe the 8090's dont fit your foot?

is your school sponsored by BNH?

good call, the 8090's probaly don't fit my foot so thats not really a good comparison, but the new liner in the 30's is awesome, the new holder I didn't really notice any changes but the rep said the screw inside is magnetic making changing the steel a lot easier. and to the second question, yea my school does the bauer nike program, this year we all get new helmets h0004 I think along with a pair of vapor 15 gloves.
