DHL Shipment

Recommended Posts

Ordered from Cyclone Taylor and I choosed the only shipping option available (UPS). When they send me an email to track my packade it was DHL in charge of the shipping instead of UPS and it looks pretty sketchy. Its been 4 days my package is in their facility and havent move.....

For info, Cyclone Taylor is in Canada (BC) and I'm in Canada (Montreal, QC)

Happened to anyone? Ever order from Cyclone?

I've had weird tracking stuff from DHL before. Looks like the package isn't moving, and then suddenly 4 days of tracking information appears on their site *after* the package got delivered.

Don't know anything about that particular seller, just wanted to share my experiences with DHL.

DHL is a true mess.. worst shipping company ever.. They are slow, and are known for a bad service.

Well... I send them (the online shop) an email to complain. I paid for UPS groud shipping and once they got my money they change the shipping method to a sketchy one...

Had a very bad experience with DHL when ordering jerseys for my team about 9 months ago. While it was going on I did some research into the company, and they have massive amounts of awful feedback from disgruntled customers. If you paid for and expected to get UPS I would contact someone at Cyclone Taylor and complain. Switching from one carrier to another without consulting you first is shady enough, but switching from UPS (Not the most reliable in my eyes either) to an even shadier carrier in DHL is terrible.

in all fairness, yesterday was a statutory holiday.

in my opinion, externally publishing tracking information is more annoying than being completely in the dark. i'd rather the package just show up in 7-10 days ( a la canada post / usps standard) than to hit the refresh button every few hours and see absolutely nothing happen.

JR is right...

DHL in north america is basically done and over with, apparently they have a ton of success in Europe, but fed ex, UPS, canada post are the big ones in canada... so since there is so little space for DHL over here, DHL contracts most if not all their work out...

What I was told by the former DHL driver that used to deliver to my work is that DHL still delivers international shipments in their own vehicles (This is in USA). I think most of the ones I see now are DHL vans and I no longer see the type of bigger trucks that he used to drive around. Like someone else said in an earlier post the former driver told me that DHL pulled out from doing domestic shipments because they couldn't compete with the other companies.

Not for the shipments I've received! DHL truck pulls up to my door, not UPS. Possibly for domestic shipments that is the case...

Plane-wise. It'll still be on a DHL waybill, but expedited by UPS.

DHL (Deutsche Post) is actually the largest logistics group in the world. The reason why they haven't competed heavily in the US and Canada in the last few years is because they are majority owned by a state controlled bank in Germany and thus scaled back operations due to the economic uncertainty. like JR said, they've used UPS air service in the past but that apparently stopped when the two groups couldnt find a long term agreement. i'd say DHL's operations in north america are basically on a "me too" basis.

I ordered a pair of Bauer Pro 4-Roll Hockey Gloves from Cyclone Taylor during mid-February, and I had no problem with DHL. The shipment arrived in four days as expected and I live in Markham, Ontario. Don't put too much weight on tracking your shipment via the DHL website. Your shipment is likely being shipped DHL Ground, so the status of your shipment won't be updated until your package reaches one of their facilities. Refer to the following link to get a general idea of the transit time required for your shipment: http://www.dhl.ca/ca/wfTransitTime.aspx. Remember it might take a day or two longer than usual since Monday was Victoria Day.

Their answer about my complaint on the fact I paid for UPS shipping and they shipped via DHL is:

"we get a quote from both UPS or DHL and ship accordingly"

About the transit time, I calculated via the website and it says 4 days. It was officially processed on 21st... so with the weekend and the monday off, I guess I should receive it by tomorrow or friday.

I'll just let the tracking go and simply wait for the package :) Anyways my next game is on monday night.

Thank you guys for the answers. (DHL still looks pretty sketchy to me, I don't like their website lol)

If your order was shipped on May 21st, my guess is that you'll receive your package on Friday (May 28th).
