Are there ways to balance a blade heavy stick?

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 115x flex easton ST and I like it a lot, but after using one95's and prostock one90's it seems a little blade heavy. Would a wood plug fix this?

From what I've heard, Easton is addressing this problem in the fall with an end plug that will have removable weights so you can customize it to your stick to balance it out.

Thanks for all the replies! I will start with the plug, if it is not enough I will go with the sinkers. What weight sinkers and how many do you use?

I know personally i hate the way a wood plug feels, so after thinking about it, maybe order one of the new composite end plugs and stick some weights in there?

That's what i would do...

^^ hahahahaha. "Wait, you're ADDING weight to a stick!?"

/head asplode

HAHAHA? It is called balancing a stick! The S19 is heavier than the S17 due to the same reason.

Same thing we did in 2003-04 at TPS.

I never knew that it was a common thing to do, I just did it as a solution to my problem.

It's funny because adding weight to balance it out makes the feel lighter when you play with it. I guess balance is more important to me than overall weight?

Absolutely! Balance is way more important in my mind!

It is amazing how much adding a plug helped! This is the first time I have ever had a stick long enough to not need a plug, so it makes sense why all of my other sticks felt so light in the blade! The only problem is, I cut to short and need a new plug! LOL!

hurrrr durrr, i was laughing at his comment about the people who want the lightest sticks possible. It's called a JOKE.

I'm well aware what balancing a stick is.

Next time you want to be a jackass, think it through.

Sensitive boy ain't ya tommy!

And besides, sarcasm and humor are lost in here. No one knows who you were talking to except you. As for being a jack ass! Like I said humor is lost in here. My comments aside from wondering if you were laughing at the weight addition or what were aimed at whomever would have an issue with adding weight to a stick. Apparently the same as you.

And next time, to avoid this,'Guitarawesome might wantto quote the post he's referring to. It helps to show who you are talking about. And to actually add somethingto this thread, I find that my balanced ST shaft/x:20 blade is lighter (at least balance wise) than my true S17. For some, the balance can make all of the difference

My St with about a two inch wood plug is starting to feel great! I do not have the quickest hands to begin with, so a balanced stick with a little weight to it has improved my handling.

Guys, is this your first forum? ^^ refers to the post before me. Either way, if it was taken out of context, I apologize.

And yeah, I use an end plug with most of my sticks to balance em out, except my Stealth CNTs. Those babies are perfect the way they are.

Now worries! And yes, it is my first forum. Makes sense though, my bad.
