What type of aps do you guys use out there and what should I be looking at. Thanks

ndlancer95 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 ESPN Scorecenter is great, you can pick your favorite teams in all leagues and get notifications at set times and whenever someone scores. i use this for football, hockey, and baseball mostly and it works great

Ansonwolfe 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2010 Depending on what you want to use it for too, here are some apps I use:Task ManagementTaska - follows GTD methods and syncs with ToodledoBox.net - tranfer files from your computer to the cloud and retrieve anywhere with iPad or iPhoneKeynote - create Powerpoint presentationsNumbers - opens and edits spreadsheets like ExcelPages - opens and edits MS Word documentsAlternatively for the last three, you can get DocsToGo which does the same. UtilitiesAir Mouse - use the ipad as a giant remote/mouse on your desktop or notebookPenultimate - write or draw on the iPad. Great for getting quick scribbles.Reading:Amazon Kindle - free app that lets you access your ebooks from your Kindle account. I recommend buying books through Amazon instead of the iBooks store as many other devices can read Kindle books using the Kindle app whereas only Apple products can read iBook materials. GoodReader - already mentioned above. Great PDF reader. If you are like me, annoyed that the iPad lacked support for Flash and do not mind jailbreaking the device, there are instructions on the web on how to get Flash on your iPad. The process is pretty simple and takes less than an hour.
shooter27 116 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 I'm definitely annoyed that it can't support flash, but I'm not really a computer guy. I don't know what jailbreaking is or how to do it. What does it do to the device?
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 For jailbreaking I'd check out everythingiCafe. I jailbroke my 3GS and I wouldn't go back but I'm not sure if I'd jailbreak an iPad. With how much you use a mobile phone finding faults that can drive you nuts is much easier and jailbreaking corrected a lot of those faults.
misfit 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2010 does anyone own a 3G ipad? if so how is the speed of internet compaired to the wi fi internet you would use in your house or a hotspot? Thanks
shotty 7 Report post Posted October 6, 2010 its obviously slower. by how much? i cant really tell to be honest, unless i go from 3g to wfi or vice versa quickly. i can tell you that the ipad would be nearly useless to me if it didnt have 3G.
