L2 or R2Xn10

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of buying a new shaft this weekend. I originally wanted the Xn10 R2, but now due to the 2 blades included in the L2 I'm having second thoughts.

My question is, Is the incredible performance of the R2 Xn10 worth it over the L2. The one issue I have ever had withTPS is their ability to finish a product. When I went out to look at the original R2 all the shafts I seen had holes or dents, extra material popping out, and paint not completely finished. I'm usually not one to complain but for the price they're asking for Xn10 you want a nicely refined product. Thanks!

Does either of the two shafts have the flex you like? If so then go with the one you like most, also which shaft shape are you looking for, the R2 XN10 has a Concave feel to it, while the L-2 has a rounder boxier feel.

I have never used the R2 XN10 but have the L2. I agree with you roadrunner, if you pay $140+ for a shaft, it should be finished well. TPS products to me look cheap. I know they make a quality product, but I think they look like crap, the R2 and the Red Lite XN10 in particular.

That being said, I went with the L2 and I love. Good feel, light, performs as well as any tapered shaft I have used and thus far has been very durable

I just got a couple of R2XN10s in a couple of weeks ago and they do have a number of finish flaws. The L2 combo is a great deal, I am interested in checking it out.

The red paint is uneven. There are 'pock' marks where the paint does dry evenly and either leaves a bubble or an indent. Every other one is a different color. The logo looks like a 5 year old made it. A solid shaft...just very poor finish

I went to get the XN10 shaft and was turned off by the finish on them a bit. I ended up getting a Bauer XV instead. Both shafts were pretty close in weight but I really liked the XV's grip.

I also have an L2 and it's a really decent shaft. I only got the shaft since I like wood blades but the 2 blade deal is a good thing. I don't find it too boxy compared to the concave shape of the XV so you shouldn't worry about that. The only complaint I have about the L2 is that it's a bit slippery but that can be easily fixed.

I think the value of the L2 is really worth a look over the XN10 especially if Mission makes a curve you like.

How can something feel durable? Especially light and durable?

I have an XV now. Do you think the weight between the Xn10 and XV is very close. Because if so There's no point for me buying it.

I think they are close. The XN10 is lighter then the XV by a little bit but not a major difference. The wieght difference wasn't enough to make me choose the XN10 over the XV.

Also the L2 is far from really heavy. Playing with the XV and the L2 has caused me to think my 1100 is a tank now.

I usually use 100 flex. Thanks to you guys I will probably keep my cash in my wallet or maybe spend some on a blade to upgrade my XV.

Thanks again. This was going to be an Impulse Buy if I hadn't sought any advise. I don't know why but after reading XN10 reviews I got this idea that it's a super stick and so much better than the competition.

Very few people have used enough of the sticks to be able to compare them directly.

ok i have both and, altho my l-2 is relatively new compared to the r2xn10 that ive been using for a few months now, i like my l-2 better. my reasons are i like a shaft to have a little bit of weight (this is by now means a heavy shaft dont get me wrong, lighter than my z bubbles i used before, but i can feel it in my hands better than i can the r2xn10. i also think that the feel for the puck is better with the l-2, and the flex is pretty good for me. the r2xn10 is an excellent stick but the shape isnt that great for me, and i think the feel could be better.

well. its sort of weird we were actually aloud to flex the stick, and it just felt really solid.

well..me too i whant a new stick(never used OPS) but i prefer a tapered version than a real OPS....but i really don't know what to get a L-2 or a R2XN10....now after reading what you guys post it like 50%-50%...

by the way...do some one have spec about the L-2??(height)

and for all the R2XN10 and XN10 user...i heard tps have a problem with vibration in the shaft when receiving pass....is it true??(I'm thinking aobut getting a Synthesis Si-core blade is this could help the problem of vibration)

Thanks..for your help...it really nice to have opinions...since it will be my first OPS...I don't whant to spend 300$CND and don't like it hihi!

I have both the R2xn10 and L2. I like the flex of the R2 better, whip vs. 85. I prefer the shape of the R2 better, plus the L2 feels real slick. Not sure about puck feel as I am using a hybrid in my R2 and the blade that came with the L2. The L2 is not a bad stick, I just like the R2xn10 better.

Roadrunner,

A guy on my team has an XN10 so I really got to compare the weights last night and here's what I found:

My XV and my L2 have the same Mission Ether wood blade and are taped exactly the same way at the butt end and the blade.

My teammate's XN10 had a little less tape and a Koho composite blade.

You couldn't really tell the difference between the XV and the XN10. To me, the XN10 felt slightly lighter but not by a noticeable amount at all. His stick actually felt a little blade heavy though.

Also, whoever said that the L2 was heavy; it felt like it weighed exactly the same as the XV to me. My teammate thought it was a touch lighter then the XV and that it was possibly the lightest of the three the way they were set up.

the performance on the xn10 series isnt that "incredible" They feel hollow as all hell, and the concave dimensions make the shaft feel very brittle in your hands.

I would buy another L-2 before another Xn10 any day. The Xn10 is just so light it makes it feel like it will break on the first slap shot I take with it. Don't get me wrong, the Xn10 is a great stick, but I like the L-2 better.
