Getting your name stitched gloves

Recommended Posts

It's been talked about many times before, but I can seems to get a good hit on the search either.

Basically, from what I understand reading here. It would be cost prohibitive to do this. They would have to more or less take apart the cuff to do it. And probably most places wouldn't want to because it would be such a pain. You can try contacting glove repair places though. You never know.

Beyond that, you'd have to get an iron on embroidered tag or transfer. Or use a sharpie.

I cut these off my RBK's, and I'm wondering if you guys think I could get a number stitched on there and then put back on the gloves?

Yes, it's easy. Go to any place that does embroidery, it'll be a cheap and easy job. Getting them put back on will be the trickiest part but it should still be doable.

MF2 reply....that was quick!!

Hello Shayno,

Thks for your inquiry.

Yes it is possible we would put both the family name and # next to each other on the upper flap.

It would cost 25.00 per pair as we are obliged to un do the top part of the gloves.

If you require any additional info plz do not hesitate to contact me, serving you will be a pleasure.

Thks,

Bob

Rather than start a whole new thread - does anyone know if it is possible to remove embroidery from gloves without too much hassle? I have some pro-stock gloves I'd like to remove the embroided names from, but will this wreck the section of the glove where the stitching is? What's the best way to do this?

Go to a local craft store and get a stitch puller. Small little tool with a sharp hook at one end. Cut the thread...then pull it through/out. If you are careful while doing it "damage" to the glove should be minimal....you will likely still be able to see a pattern of holes after you are done...

if the name is on a flap remove it and the binding and just sew a piece of fabric over it.

this is how i did my name on a pair of pro stock warriors, and my eagles as well. took some fabric to an embroidery shop ($10) to have my name sewed on and then sewed it all back together.
