DolomaticDangles 13 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 In bantams we were losing something like 5-1 at the beginning of the third. I got a pass from the defenseman and beat the defender. Deke backhand on the breakaway. Alright, 5-2. Next face-off, they win it and dump it. My defenseman chipped it out off the rightside boards as I was cutting across(I'm left wing). Pick up the puck on the redline off the boards, one on one, lean into the guy and drive to the net on my backhand. I'm pulling the puck back to my forehand when a dude rails me from behind. I got the shot off right before I rammed into the post, top shelf. Two goals in 19 seconds. We got like 2 more goals in the next few minutes and won 6-5. It was awesome
Vishi05 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 I don't think I have a most memorable goal. I had 5 in one game and 6 or 7 (can't remember which) iron manning a game against my goalie on another team which gave me bragging rights forever.I did have one season where I scored a game winner with 1.2 seconds left to complete a hat trick and finish off a comeback from 2-6 to 7-6. Also scored the game tying goal in the first round of the playoffs against an amazing goalie from this board. He shut me down twice in the shootout that went around 12 rounds. In the final I had the game winner in OT.
-venom- 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Nothing specific, other than: Nothing beats a big goal in front of a crowd.I don't remember most of them, but the ones I do remember, are because I can remember the reaction of the crowd. We used to play some venues in AIHl/MLRH/PIHA that actually got a few hundred people in 'em (and this is roller we're talkin' about, here).... was pretty neat, considering the only other alternative was beer league stuff. lol. twolinepass 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2011 For some reason I have always had speed, I'm not a good skater as I dont have "moves" and I dont have great "hands" I just has end to end speed.I was playing on the PK during my first season ice hockey in 15 years and intercept a D to D pass and score a short handed GWG as my first ever adult league goal. xFortune 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 Scoring goals isn't really a big thing in my memories, it's the one's that got scored on me that stick out the most. I play D and when I was in Bantam AA (years ago), we were in the divisional playoffs. We had to play a game on sunday morning to get to the championship later that day, and I played amazing. Pretty much on god level. We won. Fast forward to the afternoon game, I played like shit. First period I let 2 guys go by me easily and they score. Coach sits me for 2nd and 3rd period. We go into OT. Coach puts me back in and I start to play my game again. Game goes to 3OT and guess what...a guy starts to wind up for a slap shot I dive infront of him to block it, he shoots the puck and it bounces off of my sticks shaft, then goes up top shelf for the game winning goal.I'll never forget it. Big Jim 1 Report post Posted March 14, 2011 I've only been playing ice for a year now. I'm 28. When I was a kid, I lived in Buffalo and played street hockey every day I could. I loved it. I can remember, often, practicing shooting from extreme angles. There was always something about it that I just thought was so cool. I'm a left hand shot I can remember standing and like a 4 degree angle (lol) from the net and trying to bank em in by grazing the crossbar short side. I have a very good shot for the level I play in due to my experience playing street as a kid all the time. Anyways. I have scored twice from this angle, albeit once was in close. I controlled the puck along the boards on the RW and danced my way to the net around a D man and came up from under the goal line and just roofed that shit over the goalies shoulder putting the puck in the top mesh. It was a game tying goal with only a couple minutes remaining. I was really stoked and I never use that word.I scored another goal from a rediculous angle a few games ago. This one was from much further out. Came down the right wing (lh shot) and did it just like I did when I was a youngster all those times practing. No one really expects you to be able to shoot like that at this level, so I think the goalie was thinking I was going to pass it through the middle. Anyways, I absolutely let her rip and sent the puck in the top shelf. Guys on the other team were giving me props for the shot and that always makes me feel great! Once summer season comes around I'm jumping up to the next level, so I probably won't have too many of these moments any more....haha.
Lee-Bro 1 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 Most memorable is my only (as of now) goal from tonight. Finally after 11 games and just learning to play in the beginner's league, it's nice to be on the stat sheet.
CapAttack 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 Earlier this season I got to play a game at Verizon Center (where the Capitals play) and they had an announcer, sound, lighting, etc. Basically everything you'd see at an NHL game except for instead of 18,000 people there were probably 250 in the stands.Anyways, I scored the GWG with around 2 minutes to go, and the horn went off with the siren and the music playing. Plus hearing the announcer shout out my name was awesome. That would definitely be my most memorable goal by far!
s_franchise 5 Report post Posted March 28, 2011 mine was probably earlier this year we were on the power play and i was playing the left wing. the puck came across and i back padeled, shot off a huge one timer like stamkos style top cheese glove side. ive never been able to shoot like that, it was an amazing feeling
reverseit 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2011 Scored a game winner late in the final game of a playoff series with a point shot when the goalie was down because he was hurt. Ended up playing for the team I scored on a couple of years later, got ragged about it a few times Gotta be that or when my shot hit off the boards, hit the goalie in the back of the skate and went in. snuzzo24 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2011 I haven't played in an actual league yet but have played some pick up games on the pond with goalies. I scored a goal by deflecting it in with the shaft of the stick. It was more my buddy who shot it at my stick and me just getting lucky and making contact. Was still pretty cool to do though.I am sure I will have a more memorable goal this year when I start playing in a league.
S.Mack97 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2011 In the last tourny of the season last year I was busting into the zone for what I though would be a 2 on 1 with one of my linemates. We had (and still have) great chemistry and together put up the most points on the team so I was sure we would score. So we get into the zone and I start to open up for a pass from her and a quick shot, that is when she decided to dump the puck for a change, luckily for me, I had a bunch of speed and my teammates attempt at dumping failed as the defender stopped it with her stick. So I quickly poke checked and the puck bounced up right onto my stick and I am on a breakaway. As I get closer to the goalie I fake a snapper on my right side then move to the left, the goalie didn't buy the shot fake but went down when I went to my backhand, and i dragged the puck across the crease one more time to my forehand and as the goalie tried to poke check the puck, she hit my feet. So in the air, I remember looking down, seeing the puck, and swatting it in the net. So basically dangling the goalie and hitting the puck in while in mid air. That was my second of three goals in four games and my team won the championship. The coaches also selected me as the mvp for the tourny.
bardown 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Partial breakaway streaking in from the left wing, defender was wheeling down chasing me, almost caught up trying to cut me off from the right when he suddenly dives to try and poke check/strip me of the puck. Toe dragged around the kid, had to jump over his legs, faked left, went right and back hand roof on goalie........ I have absolutely no idea how I thought up all of this or if I even meant to do it... it was almost like instinct or reactionary. It took me a good second or two to even realize what I had just done ahahah. By far the sweetest goal ive ever scored.
