Recommended Posts

Been really bugging me as I'm very particular about my gear (and very OCD)...does anyone know? I was thinking fine sandpaper, but don't want to scratch the blade. Thanks!!!

If it is adhesive just gently heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer and peel it off. Works for helmets too.

Euchalyptus oil... just put enough to let the label soak it up, then peel it off after a few minutes. There might be some glue residue, but use the oil again with a cloth and it will come off... plus it will smell nice :)

you have a credit card you no longer use, assuming its you know, maxed out or expired or something, or a library card, or in my case my ASU or college ids just gently but with force start at the edges and push, makes em come up, or hot water till it gets it wet and then do that.

Just as an update. I used some fine sand paper to "loosen it up" and then used Goo Gone. Worked like a charm. When I get a chance I'll post before after pics.

By far the easiest and cleanest way is to use a heatgun or blowdryer to heat the adhesive up and peel the sticker off. Scraping or sandpaper can damage the clear coat and wouldnt be my first choice.

Having used sandpaper, I would agree I was not a fan of doing it, nor would I recommend it. I was lucky enough to not damage the clear coat.

I'd have to saw what worked best for me and if I had to do it again would be applying goo gone, letting it sit for a minute or two, and then push on the sticker with and old credit card or school ID.

goo gone doesn't work well with stickers on hockey sticks IMO. Goof off is the best I've used so far

Just adding what I found on the Bauer UPC code plastic sticker that chips apart when you try to peel it off. Thanks to previous posters,

I finally got that sticker off with no residue after getting it hot. I held it over a medium hot stove for a few minutes, lifted a corner, and peeled it right off. I scratched the grip coat a little when lifting the corner. Probably would have decent luck with a heat gun, but the hair dryer couldn't get it hot enough.

I had tried Goo Gone with little to no effect, despite letting it sit for the better part of the day. Sanding it first may work better, but I didn't go that way.
