NCAA Socks?

Recommended Posts

AFAIK RBK Edge socks only come in NHL team colors. In this photo ( http://mainecampus.com/media/photos/w4n7h3ui.jpg )is a Maine player wearing what looks like RBK Edge-like socks with another brands logo. Does anyone know what brand that is? My team has decided to go with Maine colours, but after using Edge socks, the thought of going back to wool makes me wanna punch babies.

I just got socks from the Michigan sale that appear to be edge with an Adidas logo. You'd probably have to get them from an equipment sale.

If you're looking for a baby blue, dark blue and white colorway in reebok socks, you may look into the penguins third jersey socks.

If you are looking for the exact Maine pattern in reebok type socks, I have never seen any in stores or online.

Custom edge socks are available but I believe last time I checked there was a 3-4 month turn around time and they werent too cheap at all. Yes I said 3-4 months not weeks. If your looking for a similar material sock I would try K1 would can make you a Edge style sock in any color combo you want. Another company is Kamazu but there minimum order # is rediculous!!!

Those are the normal traditional wool ones.

I honestly don't know someone who once has gone to edge/edge equivalent has gone back to anything but that type of sock. I know I never will.

... Or i don't have to bother with the material rub at all on my inner thigh and hold up a lot better. That's why I wear them. I could care less about how they are also lighter and more tapered to my foot.

I've not worn Edge socks, but I have work Nike Swift socks and lighter poly socks from PearSox and after doing that traditional socks felt like blankets on my legs. Given the choice, I'd go with the lighter socks every time.

As for the OP, the brand is Adidas, which owns Reebok and CCM.

for edge specifically? its because they are like the 'nike' of the polyester sock, they have the best recognition. Have you worn a pair of the edge or equivalent? Super nice.

Don't know if you HAVE to have Edge but this place has knit socks in Maine colors. You could buy 2 pairs of these for the price of Reebok socks. Just a thought http://www.homegrownsportinggoods.com/cohosoatknho.html

They dont have to be Edge (as stated in the original post), but "Edge-like"... as in, not wool.

My team uses custom socks from a company called 'DSC Hockey'. 100% Polyester with Velcro tabs in the front. Maybe look them up?

Heres the company.

Oh, awesome! Thank you!

Thanks! That was the info I was looking for. I wonder why they don't use the normal Adidas logos... brand recognition and all...

So it is.. I couldnt see the definition of the stripes. If I had, I sure wouldn't have asked in the first place ;) It kinda looked like the Quiksilver logo (but obviously wasn't).

If can't find any Maine socks in the Reebok style, you could try Kamazu FlexxIce hockey socks. They look similar to the Reebok Edge style - they don't appear to have Maine colours but they do have a plain 'Sky Blue' colour.

Also, previous posters have mentioned 'wool socks'. Traditional hockey socks (Athletic Knit, CCM, etc.) have been just using a polyester/cotton blend for many, many decades - no wool involved.
