nalindabenderz917 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Which curve would be better for me coming from an easton iginla? I hated the P92. I know its personal prefrence but looking for a curve which would be similar.
raganblink 82 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 P14 is more of a toe like p92, p88 is a constant mid heel closer to iginla
nalindabenderz917 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 this might also be a key factor: the tape wear is toward the heel of the blade

chhhockeynut14 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2011 I use a p88 and recently tried out the p14 and really liked it. I found that my shot wobbled a little more than usual but I used it for about a half an hour and my shot was pretty close to the p88. The other thing I really liked was that it made throwing saucer passes easier. You don't have to open up your wrists or even snap your wrists. Just roll the puck off from the heel and it goes. I didn't get to do any normal passes with it, I didn't think of it at the time, but I'm sure that would be pretty easy to get used to. Keep this in mind. I should the puck from the middle of the blade, not the toe so you might want to figure out how you shoot before you take my advice. Overall I would reccomend the p14, and the next stick I get will be with a p14.
forbs02 20 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 The P12 is the same as Easton's Iginla.
hockeypro8791 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 well the p14 is a really big mid toe curve for quick high snaphots and the p88 is more of a backhand wristshot and passing curve if you want somethin like iginla i say p88
Husker 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 I was kinda disappointed when I saw the p14. Broke my last Ovie clone and this sounded like the closest retail blade to it till I can get more. It's not as big as people are making it out to be.

No cure is "for" doing anything. Find something that feels comfortable and use it, way too many people are expecting sticks to magically make them a better shooter or give them better hands. It's practice that does that, not a new curve.
nalindabenderz917 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 i asked because i dont want to spend 200+ on a stick and have me not like the curve. I play defense and Im not sure if a toe would be the best option.............

Chadd 916 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 i asked because i dont want to spend 200+ on a stick and have me not like the curve. I play defense and Im not sure if a toe would be the best option.............The only way to know if you will like it is to try it. In your case, the P88 would most likely be an easier transition than the P14
nalindabenderz917 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2011 I think I'll just go to Hockey Underground and use the artificial ice with both curvesThe only way to know if you will like it is to try it. s_franchise 5 Report post Posted May 5, 2011 those are two really different curves, ive went progressively into the P14, from a P88-P92-P14. it takes some getting used to. but like chad said the only way to really get better with a curve it to find one that fits your game, and get out and use it a ton. s_franchise 5 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 Anybody know where I could get p14 replacement blades for cheap? The P14 i believe only comes on the totalone blade as far as replacements go, you might be able to get it in an x60. but either way its the higher end blade. if you need a standard and want to save some money you could always try the warrior gionta, kind of similar. NazHockey94 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 I think the, for me anyway, the Gionta was much easier to get used to. Bh's are much better w. The Gionta as well. So it comes down to how you shoot, as always right?Quick snappers with a whippy flex = p14Dangles, bh's, mid-stiff flex = p88 or giontaAgain, just my experience talking here. Sniper9 530 Report post Posted May 15, 2011 I thought the P12 was a heel curveiginla=midp88=midp14=listed as a toe, but imo is more of a mid-toe.. kinda of like the old ccm recchi curve but a tad more aggressive.. imo, you cant compare the gionta or smyth patterns to the p14.. they are pretty diff.. in terms of rocker toe shape, and aggressiveness.it might seem weird, but if a blade is visually appealing to me, i know i can use it.. the p14 looks like a very easy blade to transition to because it doesnt have any exaggerated areas (tow, heel mid etc). it is very subtle and looks like a great blade for everything. ntwusc 62 Report post Posted May 15, 2011 I just picked up a P14 X:60, and I thought I'd have trouble coming from a PM9. However, the lies of the two curves are very close, and I was able to control my shots with the P14 a lot more easily than I expected by looking at it.
