chhhockeynut14 1 Report post Posted May 15, 2011 I felt the need to customize my Vapor XXXX pros. Has anyone else done something lke this? The gloves were originally just royal and white but I taped off the white stripes and spray painted over the glove. I think it turned out pretty well. Fisticuffs 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2011 One of the guys on our team was having some trouble with his hands this weekend... we decided the problem was probably with his bright white gloves, so we stole his gloves and made some 'at home' customizations for him between games. He's going to kill us. by Fisticuffs26, on FlickrEdit - More Pics:http://twitpic.com/4y1scwhttp://twitpic.com/4y1s3u

BenderHockey 127 Report post Posted May 16, 2011 That's a REALLY douchey move. You guys had better be prepared to ante up and buy him a brand new pair of gloves, of HIS CHOICE.Practial jokes on a teammate are one thing, but this just doesn't show any respect.EDIT: accidentaly quoted above comment. We made sure it would be completely reversible before we went ahead and did it. As far as the guy who owns the gloves... he thought it was hilarious, wore them for his next game (yesterday), and was an all-around good sport about it. If so, the guy is an awesome sport! He's going to keep them that way, but he isn't planning on wearing them much after this (he's been shopping for new mitts for a couple weeks now), he's gonna hang on to these as a memento. HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted May 16, 2011 I shortened the cuff on a pair of cheap-o Winnwell gloves I bought a while ago. It was actually pretty easy. Seam ripper to pull up the binding, scissors to trim the material/padding, and then sew the binding back on.After is on the left, before is on the right. HockeySavants 5 Report post Posted May 17, 2011 I have done a few custom gloves, just for my amusement so it works out:The CCM 4 Rolls in the top right were originally:Used a Sharpie at first but used a fabric marker and now look like straight out of factoryThe Vapor XXXX in the second row to the left looked like this:I used acrylic paint to paint most of the surface with black fabric marker to finish a second coat and look like stock, the red with a fabric marker. The all black Vapor XVIs looked liked thisNo technique here, just all black spray paint. I use them for LAX/street hockey and still the most comfy gloves I have.

TeamHonda401 54 Report post Posted May 22, 2011 Hey guys, sorry I have to bump this topic again, but I want to buy thesegloves, but don't really want the pink, do you think painting them will work? That would be pretty tough to get all that pink covered up. Says that they are pu leather, which most likely wouldn't cover as easily as a nylon glove. If you could manage to pull it off, I'll probably do the same thing lol those gloves are sick for $70.
