What is a supple? And the ball of your foot is in the front...

I invented the term, it refers to the part of the boot that supports the back of the heel. I now know the ball is in the front, my bad.

Skate is too big for you if you have room in the heel like that (especially on a supple-fit skate). It should form fit on the ankle and heel, there should literally be no room in the heel, since it's molded around your hell/ankle.

I'm thinking he didn't put his heel all the way back when molding the skate. Also, he may not have tied it up tight so it would form properly to his foot.

sounds more like an improperly sized skate.

sounds more like you don't know what your talking about and should see your way out of this thread.

Or you can find your way off the board. Funny how several other people are saying the same thing I am. So much for trying to help.

JR:

not alot of room, I'm just saying it feels like the heel could be back farther if the supple wasn't in the way you know. I think I'll just heat fit them again, and kick my heel back farther/tie the laces tighter.

I would just heat fit them again. Make sure you kick your heel back and don't walk around...Also, make sure you tighten them well (be careful that you don't pull the eyelet out).

Good luck...

Justin

I notice the problem with my Mission rollers (RM and no heat molding). When I stand straight, my heel slides forward. I think it's just a poor match for my ankles. My achilles is not very concave, it's more staight up and down but the back of the boot has some forward lean to it. That may be what you have going on. Something to consider.

it sounds like your skates are too big, but maybe a part of it is, when you molded your skates, your ankle was bent ... the same way when as when you bent your toes, so your heel never molded the boot, maybe try bending your ankle forward

I ditched my custom S500s and got a pair of Synergy`s, which I really like. Nothing against the Mission though, it sure is a nice skate, but I just couldn`t get them to fit my feet, even after several heatings.

what about Lightspeeds on S500?

do I need new holes for lightspeed?

You would need new holes. I see so many lightspeeds with bent steel it's not funny, I wouldn't suggest that change.

Actually they have gotten much better. The loose LS are straight and I've sharpened a couple of XXXs and the mount is true.

I'm not just referring to warped steel. I've seen skates that are a month or two old and is no longer close to vertical anymore.

While I agree that this area isn't the best in terms of hockey AA/AAA players aren't really anklebenders.

Just answer me this - what LS is it? I bet it's the ones with the grooved out holder.

I've been working with these holders for the past year and a half now...they have come a long way in terms of improvement.
