Bauer One 95 Girdle - Whose Got one?!

Recommended Posts

What's up Guys!

So I just placed an order for a One95 girdle. This is my first shot going girdle route, I've always worn pants (currently supreme One60). Who owns one, and what do you think? I ordered a medium, which is my current Pant size- do they go hand and hand? These better then the Total one girdle out now? Will the One95s give enough protection for competitive college play?

Thanks in advance guys!

I have one and I really like it - it is light and moves well with your body. I wear an XL which is the same size as I wear in Bauer pants (I have a pair of Bauer 8000s that I wear as well). I don't know if it is better than the Total One girdle, they look pretty similar though. I think the protection is sufficient to play at any level but other people may not feel that way. I am sure that plenty of NHL players have worn a Cooper/Bauer girdle over the years and if it is good enough for them it will probably be fine for you.

I have one. I wear a large (in hockey pants, I wear a large too). I play in a non-contact beer league, so the girlde is good for me as far as protection goes.

My grandma used to wear one too.

Yup, you still catch pros wearing girdles, so I'm sure I'll be good to go. I've always felt compelled to try one- hey I might end up loving it compared to pants. Won't know till I try.

I've got one too. I went from Vapor XXV(XL) to the One95(XL) girdle and loved it. I loved the freedom of movement you get with the girdle. The protection is good too. I play defense and take a lot of shots off it.

AWESOME! Glad to see all the good feedback on the One95, actually can't wait to try it out now!

What shells you guy's rocking on them? Was thinking just some Bauer Supremes. You guy's know of any companies that make shells with Zippers on the legs?

I take it...Medium Girdle...Medium Shell? Or is that tight fitting and weird looking? lol

I have a Tackla girdle with Tackla shell, and I recently bought a Bauer shell. The stretchy material in the Bauer crotch is far better than the all nylon Tackla.

I have a one90 girdle. IIRC they are basically the same. I hate it. I'm going to upgrade to pants because I have a bruise on my left hip that keeps getting re-aggrivated due to the lack of padding.

This is mostly the fault of the girdle design though, not the specific model.

Can't beat the mobility though.

If you can find one these days, the CCM Pro girdle had the best side on hip protection I have come across. Big thick plastic inserts with foam underneath. I had the blue model (2008 version I think?) and then they released a black version which had just as good protection on it. I use the X60 these days for mobility but every time I land on my side I wish I still had the CCM Pro on.

I haven't skated with the Easton girdle but have seen them and I would still rate the CCM as more protective in the side hip area.

Got one.like the form fit. Play in non checking adult league..

One95 girdle and totalone girdles are basically the same except totalone is more black, otherwise padding is the same (I compared the two when my buddy picked up the totalone recently)

CCM changed the girdle your talking about- from their current one right now?

Easton looks pretty protective- gonna have to go try it on and see what it feels like. There is also the Warrior girdle, looks decent as well. I think I've seen Brendon Dubinsky wearing this one.

Thanks for info on comparison Goon-

TO and ONE95 is the same, except for the color.

So Just got in my One95...and I dunno yet...I'm on the ropes.

I'm def not use to a pant coming up as high as it does, and I guess as close to the body as it does up top by the kidneys. My pants don't fit tightly up in and around that region. And when I say "tightly" I don't mean uncomfortably, I mean just in a way I'm not use to. Padding around the rest of the pants, the hip, the legs, the back of the pant...actually feel like they have more support then my current Supreme One60's lol. Funny...all you guy's on here have been saying the lack of padding they have, meanwhile what I've been playing with has less lol.

One thing that's bugging me out are the pads on either side of the high inner legs, next to the big middle strap. Not that they are bulky...but I don't have any padding in that area on my One60's, so when I bend down in the girdle I feel like it's fighting me? (If that makes any sense) Don't know if that material gets any softer with use, I'm sure it does but I dunno. I'm on the edge right now with the girdle...I'll be honest. I might just be a pants type of guy. I needa sit with it a few days I think lol.

happy roosting then ;)

alternatively you could simply give it a go and see how it feels. I've had it for 2+ years and my personal experience was nothing like what you're describing (refering to the fighting part) - the girdle is light & mobile and moves with me.

I wonder though - did you get the right size? almost sounds like it might be too big for you which is why you feel like there's a "lot of it" sort of speak?

I guess "fighting" would be a bad way to describe it. Not so much in the sense fighting, but I guess those front 2 pads I spoke of I'm not use to having, so when I bend in a hockey stance they kind of bend up? It's really not a big deal, or something that would hinder me if I decided to keep it...just more like an observation I guess.

In terms of the size, this is I believe my correct size. I have a Senior Medium, which is the same size I wear in Bauer pants. I find it funny though, that this has more padding then my One60's right now, and people have been noting the lack of padding in them.

Lefty, my advice is just hang on to them.

I've owned an old Bauer MBP8 girdle for about 4 years now, which is the predecessor to the One95/Total One girdle. It's missing several pads (none of the major ones, thankfully) and has several rips and tears, so I bought a TotalOne girdle over the summer to replace it. While I thought the TO was much lighter and drier, I, like you, noticed that they seemed to lack in the flexibility department. I only wore them about 3 or 4 times before I put them up on eBay at a whopping loss and a dramatic decrease in my own protection. Had I still been using them, there is no doubt in my mind they would be broken in and comfortable by now. Instead, I'm still stuck with my old girdle and I'm 50 bucks poorer for my fit of whimsy.

I would just buy another one, but I'm in a transitional period with my equipment and so I'm waiting to see if there are any possible greener pastures in any of the upcoming catalogs. Still, if I could do it all over again, I would've just stuck with my TotalOnes and I imagine I'd have been all the happier for doing so. Now on the other hand, if you're still not happy with them after 4 or 5 months, THEN I would post them up on eBay and get something that suits you better. Hope that helps.

I know girdles are gaining in popularity but like I said I switched back to pants for the very reason you are concerned about. Everyone writes that there are no gaps in coverage but to me nothing could be further than the truth. The TotalOne has try little in the front pelvic region and nothing in the back kidney area. The Easton, probably the beefiest, has good back and kidney padding but again nothing in front pelvic region.

By the way - if you are looking for a cover with a zipper check out Easton. I have an Easton cover - its older and I don't know the model - but its great, has zippers and velcro too.

I have a Tackla shell that I wear with the One95 - size xl for both. No problems with fit or durability. I wear a bauer Supreme shell over my 9K girdle and I like the material and ventilation. Size XL girdle, size XXL shell with that set up.

The Reebok 9k girdle shell has zippers but I don't use the shell because I find it to be too small to work with the girdle. Reebok should have put a less restrictive shell over the girdle but I guess they were aiming for a streamlined look.
