PK hasn't played since taking an awful, dumb penalty in the First that ended a Power Play. 12 shifts/7 Minutes in the First...0/0 in the Second.

Another stupid penalty last night. It's starting to become his trademark

I have been a fan/supporter/defender of his from Day 1...but he is starting to wear on me too. Kinda reminds me of Stevie Johson (WR-Bills). He keeps saying he gets it and that he has learned...but the same things keep happening over and over....I really, really want him to mature into a top flight NHL D-man...but maybe it has to happen in a city without so much media attention.

That was a great hit. He's played well the last 2 games....with no shenanigans. I don't understand why HNIC was giving him such a hard time for the show of sportsmanship!

Because P.J. Stock turns anything that Subban does into a negative.

Pacioretty gets his first hat-trick and Gomez scores  BS call on New York's first goal tho. Price literally got robbed of his shutout

Lots of help from posts in the 3rd in Toronto to save a SO last night.

I was listening it on the radio at my job and it was a ringing concert :)

After putting on quite a show in the AHL for the last 4 games on conditioning. (4GP 4G/1A +2 10SOG 26PIM) , Ryan White is called up to Montreal. They also called up tough guy Ian Shultz. I guess this all but assures Moen is headed out of town.

Few days late but... MARKOV IS BACK!

The one awful play in Buffalo that lead to the Ennis (I think) goal. But, overall...he has looked pretty good. The PP definitely works better with him and PK together on the points.

I still think he should have sat out the remainder of the season. Someone on Twitter said: Markov's absence all year is possibly one of the reasons if not THE reason the Habs are going to miss the playoffs... and probably THE reason the Habs might not have a top two pick.

That being said, I'm hoping they lose most of the rest of their games in order to get a high pick... hoping Timmins doesn't screw things up at the draft. There also a lot of talks about Gomez being done in Montreal. A trade is still possible given the fact that he will have a high cap hit with a lower actual payroll hit which could entice some "poorer" teams to trade for him in order to meat the floor cap while spending less money. A lot of talks are sending him back to New Jersey provided Montreal buys him out and the Devils are able to sign him for a "reasonable" salary.

Your comment about Timmins "Screwing up" the draft...? What is that in reference too. I think Timmins has a pretty good record in the Draft.

I'd say he has a decent record perhaps. There is an article that come out saying Montreal was the team with the most drafted players playing in the NHL but that doesn't mean that they drafted the players they should have. I think it's safe to say that they have made some big mistakes as well have had some good picks, like every organization I guess. Maybe I'm just expecting too much. Some of the blame can be put on the whole organization as a whole at least development wise perhaps?

If you're drafting NHLers then you're doing well at the draft. Not developing them or not getting full value for them, that is another matter.

Everyone knew this was going to happen so this isn't really big news. The real question is who are they replacing him with? The article on tsn.ca mentioned: The club says in a release "the search for a new general manager is underway."

In my opinion they shouldn't have announced the Gauthier firing until they were also ready to announce who they were hiring for the GM position. Hopefully they can answer that question soon.

Let's hope he speaks French!

Difficult to do a search without the outgoing GM finding out...

Why not take as much time as they possibly can? There will be a good list of candidates, and one of the questions you know they'll be asking is, "What are the possible draft lineups and who would you pick in each case?" If the candidates have taken the application seriously, and they involve the head scouts in the process, anyone could step in a week before the draft and lead them on.

Let's not start this debate. The best person for the job should get the position regardless if he only speaks spanish, same with the head coach. I saw an interview 2 weeks ago with Randy Cunneyworth and Pierre Houde. Questions were asked in english, Randy gave his response and Pierre Houde would translate to french. Whats the big deal if he can't speak french when someone can translate?
