2011-2012 IIHF World Jr's Tourney

Recommended Posts

canada and usa spend millions on hockey developement programs, some of these euro teams dont have a pot to piss in when it comes to hockey funding

im a canadian, and i love seeing my team spank the opposition but it would be nice if there were more serious contending teams in the tourny.

czech republic has never EVER won a game against canada in the juniors for example.

and seeing how USA fell short to finland makes it quite clear what this tourny is all about....

the age old rivalry between canada and russia....

not really sure where you got that idea. every team is entitled to a bad game (or in Canada's case last year, a bad period) and the USA had theirs last night. it will be interesting to see how Team USA responds tomorrow night.

USA takes the short route to the relegation tournament. Kind of disappointed because the Canada/US New Years game has become one of my favorite hockey games of the year and this year there is nothing on the line.

5 Denmark players suspended for this, prior to the Finland game. Surely worse things have happened? That's the attitude you like to see in players, especially after being blown out.

Pride is a huge motivator. It means nothing in the tournament but I'm betting there is going to be some bad blood out there.

They did this about an hour after the game, the actual interview was only a few minutes long as per the vid clip.

It sucks, kids will be kids. They didn't say anything bad so a warning would have been appropriate - suspension, totally over the top.

Got it. I misread the time for the duration. I don't know what to think about discipline, but I had to like those kids, not taking themselves too seriously, and having fun after the game. I'd have more of a problem with that attitude right before a game, I think.

Did anyone happen to catch the 50/50 draw amount in Edmonton during Can/US???

$147k ?!?!?!?!?

There were so many tickets sold...they didn't announce the winner. They said they would post the winning number on a website last at 10:30.

Nothing like going to a hockey game and coming home out of debt...LOL

As much as it sucks that Canada wont be in the gold medal game, that was one hell of a third period, not to mention 4 goals in 5 min.

Anyways, pretty jealous of the person who won the $200,000 50/50 last night.
