My Other Car Is A DeLorean

Does the safety net obscure the view at a NHL game?

Recommended Posts

My friends and I are going to the Ducks vs. Blackhawks game in a few weeks at the Honda Center. Ive been to games there before and always prefer lower level near center ice, but this time I couldnt book those seats in time

Instead, we got tickets in the lower level corner and I'm worried that the safety net will ruin the view. Is this true or do you not even notice it? Here is a view from our section:

I notice it, and it bugs me. But it's really not a big deal.

Pretty much the same for me, but it caused a lot of problems for me trying to watch a game after my concussion. I had a lot of visual issues and the net made them a lot worse.

Depending on what row you're in, the glass will be a bigger bother to you when you look at the other end of the ice because it creates this weird optical illusion if you're too low or a couple rows back, it's half in your view and half not.

The net has never really bothered me, even when sitting behind the goal.

I have never noticed it, and we sit behind it at 10+ games a year at the Spokane Chiefs game. My wife on the other hand goes crazy and constantly loses the puck while looking through the net. Might be difference in our eyes, or maybe the fact I played so long I can "see" the game better. Who knows.

Considering the death of a 13 year old girl in Columbus from a puck, does it really matter if your view is obstructed a bit from a netting that will save your life? I watched the game on TV and heard what happened afterwards. The seats I usually sit in the Saddledome have netting and I don't really find it bothersome.
