akravetz 29 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I was on a web site and saw that Graf makes things other than sticks and skates. I know, of course, they do but my post is this... I have never seen anyone with Graf gloves. Is Graf really known for their skates and they try to branch out or do you have to be in a certain region of the country or world to use such gear. I was just curious as I was looking around online, saw the stuff and figured you all know more than me when it comes to this. It's just interesting because since I started playing hockey a couple of years ago, I pay more attention to what people use. Been a fan for decades but never noticed. Again, silly and waste of time question but it is either this or work. :)Andyp.s. don't tell my boss.
Davetronz 109 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 Graf is pretty big in Calgary, but the Canada HQ is located here too... More and more guys are wearing the skates - a few are using the sticks - lots of shoulders and shin pads out there - not a whole lot of gloves yet.

Chadd 916 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 They have had decent non-skate products over the years but they have also had some very, very bad products over the same period. The new stuff looks to be a significant improvement over most of what I have seen in the past.

LOLI ended up having to get rid of those shin pads after a few uses.I'm not really allergic to anything else, other than whatever it was they put in those shins. Joker518 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 I had a pair of Graf G500 gloves that I really liked. Good fit, perfect finger design, and they ended up being quite durable. I actually saw them in a shop, tried them on and was amazed at the quality from a smaller brand... Good price point, too. I bought them on the spot even though I wasn't in the market for new gloves. pelikano 1 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 Saw some of the new sticks a while ago. Nice price point and the quality looked good. Was sorely tempted...
akravetz 29 Report post Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks. Here in the Midwest, I have never seen a person with anything other than graf skates and even that is rare. I love my G5s. Most comfortable skate i have ever worn. That said, I am still getting used to the forward pitch which is way different from my old Bauers. Don't regret the move; just different. Thanks again.Andy in Peoria
SnoJH 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2012 I really want to try a pair of Graf Skates. They look comfy and yet strong. So far, everyone I've talked that has Graf skates can only say good things.
jimmy 194 Report post Posted March 10, 2012 Saw some of the new sticks a while ago. Nice price point and the quality looked good. Was sorely tempted...Yes, saw their complete line of sticks yesterday, all price points. Really nice sticks this year, good graphics and they have grip starting halfway down but smooth at the top half. Made in orient, same as the other big guys, but still nice. ngray734 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2012 I've read that some people have had quality issues with Graf but I haven't had a problem and I refuse to wear anyother skate. My 735's fit my foot better than any skate I've ever put on, and I've tried a lot in my days. They are different than most other skates out there. They are not as light as other top end skates but they allow a skater to properly use their ankles. The boots are lower cut and allow for great flex. I live by the largest dealer in the midwest and they carry their other equipment as well. The only product that really looks great is the Era 7 shoulder pad. The sticks look nice but I haven't heard much about them.I don't know if its true but the guy at the shop told me that Graf recently signed a licensing agreement with the NHL and that you should be seeing more pros using them and a lot more products coming out soon....only time will tell. akravetz 29 Report post Posted March 10, 2012 To the guy who wants to try on Grafs, I just got mine, G5s and love them. People talk about deep boots, wide heel or runners. I confess I really don't know much about that. Here's what I do know, I put them on, they felt pretty good. I got them stretched out in the width, punched out in one toe and baked and they are like a glove. They fit great. I have heard about quality with Graf and confess my steel is rusting after only about three months of skating (on the ice about four times a week, sometimes five, others three). That kinda hacks me off as my really low end Bauers never rusted after two years. But as for fit, love them. andy
