They are probably down to 399 because your LHS realized they were gauging the shit out them. Where i work they've been $399 for the past two years, and will stay that way when the XXX comes out.

Prices will probably drop when the XXX comes out. I remember my LHS was blowing out their Supreme 7000 (with Tuuk Custom+) for around $200 when the 8090's came out.

maybe by the summer you might see smaller shops at about 350 for them. my friend's shop usually does them between 350-375 but he moves a lot of bauer/nike stuff

I hated my Bauer XX`s they were horrible. Very happy with my Vector Por`s now though! I wish i had the 7000`s too.

Yea they are. After the XXX comes out for full time. If thats what they mean by the XXX replacing the XX.

There has been no announcement stating that the XX are canceled, and if you look at the 05 bauer catalog, which you havent, the XX is still in there. All of the stuff in that catalog is staying until the 06 products are announced. You have a solid 10 months or so before the XX is likely canceled. Hell, if it aint broke don't fix it, and the $469 us price tag on the XXX is pretty steep for some. The XX will still sell like hot cakes at $399, guaranteed.
