I can't even remember what the the retail Vapor XX palms were like, I was referring to these from memory (not as similar as I remembered..)

If that's the same as the retail glove I assume he's just stuck with it since then. FWIW most comfortable gloves I own :)

Well, here's what the XXX overlays look like. (These were Jack Johnsons..)

The Vapor XX had a stretch palm, with an overlay that looked like what we've been talking about. The more "traditional" style palm was on the Vapor XV.

The original Vapor XXX glove had a single layer palm, the next year it was replaced with the above durasoft palm(Similar to what was on the Vapor XV).

Those Kovalchuk Vapors have a digital palm(overlay).

The Kovy Luxe gloves posted appear to have "micronash" which doesn't feel or wear like any of the above palms. :)

Late on this, but I'm surprised Neal was in the Winnwells..this was just a day or two after Operation Hat Trick, where he had Eastons and the new Mako.

Hossa with the ever popular mite tape job. Wrap that thing from toe to the shaft. Also I can't believe CCM pried him out of his Franchises.

wasn't comparing them to the Johnson XXX, the kovalchuk XX' have the same palm as mine. The XXX's don't have the small cut out above the heel of the glove like the others.

The Warriors all appear to have the micronash overlays.

The Kovy Vapors are a synthetic digital, not a Pittards, just so that people don't think they are the same. They perform and wear completely different from each other.

Durasoft = Clarino, just Bauer's name for it. In more recent years, it has become nash.

On the Johnson XXX, judging by the wear on the overlay, I would say that was Bauer's attempt at a tackified palm. If you look at the wear on the fingers and then the wear on the overlay, they are completely different materials, especially with the way the material pills on the fingers.

Yeah, it's a completely different kind of digital but that was just adding more information to the conversation that could have stopped at micronash...but I guess clarification is always better.

Oddly enough, the Vapor XV still had a nash overlay I believe...then they went to "durasoft".

I believe the retail Quests had the same palm(different gussets) as the XV.

My thoughts as well. Unless CCM has something in the mix that hasn't been let out of the bag yet (though, my guess would be that's unlikely).

I saw a team here in Italy sporting this exact helmet hours ago, it's a "strange" CCM helmet compared to others on the market, but I don't know..

Saw Kyle Clifford was fined this week by the ECHL for violation of the exclusive equipment policy.

I'm guessing he didn't black out his sticks at the time. Can't find a picture of it..
