I'm assuming Overdrives are the blade parralel to the sole of the boot to dig and push with?

Classic reporter move, assuming everything and anything is superstition. (You see a giant bucket of old steel, and still assume they can get superstitious about it? Really?)

Just like how anthropologists first assume literally everything has religious significance.

As an anthropologist, I LOL'd.

Sounds like Sid is every bit the ninnypants about his skates that I would expect.

I've never seen the machine on the workbench, is that for holder alignment?

It's not a machine per se, but yeah, it's a Maximum Edge product. You put the boot(s) in the slot and you are able to determine alignment, as it has a plastic plate with notches that go up the boot to the tendon guard.

I have yet to see any guys using a 3/8ths that I have worked with. They are all 5/8ths or less. And in Dallas with softer ice I just cant see it happening? I could be wrong but would seem very odd to be that deep of a hollow on ice that was typically softer similar to Tampa.

(and yes I realize the Pittsburg guy is using deeper hollows however ............)

I'm just going off of what Sudsy told me when I asked him about Nealer's blades a few years ago

Why does he sharpen toe to heel? I always thought you were supposed to sharpen heel to toe.

Either direction is acceptable, depending on your beliefs. Sharpening the toe and the heel all the way to the plastic on the other hand.....

He's just that good, or he's constantly checking the level of all of his equipment. Most guys can see from their first pass if things aren't kosher.
