jaysakic8 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2013 Whats going on? Anyone got any thoughts/opinions/reviews on the Nexus 1000 stick. I am currently using a APX 77 Flex cut down to about an 85 Flex. I am 5'8" 160 and want a stick that is easy to load and want to try something different from the low kick point of the Vapor. Plus the Vapor's flex feels like it has lost its pop and feels like it almost has too much flex. I am thinking about a 87 flex nexus because I have heard they flex more. Any thoughts or suggestions. SmokinApricot 22 Report post Posted March 25, 2013 I've been using the Nexus 1000 stick since it came out. For reference I'm 5'7" and 165 lbs. I got the 77 flex and have it cut down to like an 82 flex. I was previously using the Warrior Widow, but I have to say that I love the Nexus. It was definitely a slight change going from a low kick point stick to a mid-kick. I would highly recommend it. It's a great workhorse stick, it doesn't excel at any one thing, but does everything well. I play 4-5 times a week and it is holding up really well, only 1 or 2 small scuffs on the shaft, but that is from getting slashed and it is not anything more than a scuff. fcvapor05 1 Report post Posted March 25, 2013 I'm a Nexus fan. The biggest change, for me, was the switch from the rounded APX shaft to the more-supreme-ish square-cornered Nexus shaft. It's a great twig for sure.. just like everything else Bauer makes ha ha.
MyBoxersSayJoe 133 Report post Posted March 26, 2013 5'7", 135 lbs. Went from a 77 flex Vapor X60 to 77 flex Nexus 1000 and LOVING it. I can actually load my shots now. And it's good for everything from wrist to snap to slap.
EBondo 233 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 Went from a 77 flex TotalONE to an 87 flex APX...back to a 77 Nexus 1000, and it definitely took a little bit for me to get used to the Nexus...but now that I have, I love it. I had to change my technique up a little bit, but shots fire off of it now. Big fan.
steelnation248 102 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 Had a 77 flex Nexus. It had a great puck feel and a very soft flex, unfortunately the flex profile wasn't for me though. I'm a fan of the kick point on sticks like the S19/RS and Widows. If the profile works for you, it's a very nice stick!

FunkyDish 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2013 5'11, 175lb, been using a Nexus 1000 for 2 months now, went from a 87 Flex NXG to 87 flex Nexus 1000. The nexus feels a lot softer and loads a lot easier. I highly recommend it!

Beflar 53 Report post Posted April 4, 2013 Best stick of 2012 IMHO. Bauer has great blades on there sticks. As for the nexus i found that my wrist shot improved because of the way the stick flexes. So if your a snap shot /wrist shot guy this is a fantastic sticks. No idea about slap shots cause i never take one... Ask someone else about slap shots. S'land9.16.7 6 Report post Posted April 5, 2013 I still preferred TotalOne/NXG's for shooting, but the way the stick felt during passing/receiving passes and puck handling was great. Shooting wasn't bad, just not quite as much kick as the TotalOne did.

jaysakic8 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Ended up picking up a Nexus 77 flex and the thing is awsome. Great feel, like the APX, maybe even better. But the thing loads easier and shoots harder.
