Any rbz stage 2 thoughts yet?

Recommended Posts

Just posted a review if you want to give it a read. Scored pretty well.

80% constitutes "scoring pretty well," for a $250 stick? lol. I was curious to try this stick, and had been wishing it comes in 2 piece (I do not deal well with broken paddles that make an entire stick unusable), it is just a personal issue. After reading your review, it increased my appreciation for my rig.

perhaps hes evaluating it with price point in mind, comparing to other top end sticks. If your keeping price in mind and evaluating categories based on that, 80 percent can still be a "pretty good" score.

I heard that many people were upset with the Stage 2's proformance.

Gotta be a bit more descriptive than that for us to put any stock in this claim, especially from somebody with 6 posts.

Having sold my Stage 2 recently to a friend, my opinion is that I did not find the performance or feel to be anything noteworthy. I also found that the new balance point felt clunky when handling the stick, as if the middle third of the shaft imbalanced the blade. However, plenty of customers seem to really like it. Personal preference.

what is your sample size? i was very impressed with it in the store, and havent heard too many complaints, but with such a thing like a stick your going to get polar opinions often

I actually like the puckfeel in the blade better than the original RBZ.. It seems to have all the good things from the original, and a improved blade and an even lighter feel.. But then again it's all about personal preference

i got one when it first came out for 200 taxes in. i would never pay retail but couldn't turn down 200 bucks for this stick. i was very intrigued when the rbz came out last year, so I jumped at this opportunity. 75 flex grip LAND curve. I was disappointed that the LAND is similar to the p92 with a slight difference as I was hoping for more of a toe.

As for the stick, it is durable, and passing/receiving passes has not been an issue. no chips after 4 games. Blade is still rock solid. Slappers are effortless... BUT I find it reacts more like a mid flex than a variable flex stick as you can feel a bit of a lag in release when it comes to snap and wrist shots, like with the bauer supreme series.... Not a bad stick, and worth the 200 but not worth the retail IMO.

I am very interested in trying the new V series from Easton, esp with their e28 curve, but I will always be wary of easton's durability. Next stick may be Base's supernatural as they now have it in all finishes and an e28 clone.

It's just a straight shaft like a standard shaft + blade combo. I believe chadd pointed this out in the RBZ stick thread so the custom kickpoint is just pure marketing.

yea i know the shaft is like a standard shaft, but didn't know if there was the variable flex tech in it or not. does that even exit with bauer and warrior, who also claims certain lines they manufacture have variable flex

Bauer's 3 stick line (vapor/supreme/nexus) have their own designed kickpoint(s) so it's not variable per se, more like having the stick kick intentionally at specific areas. For Warrior it's the same with their 2 stick line (covert and ax) just that it flexes/loads more energy in one area vs the rest of the stick. With CCM and it's RBZ, it plays exactly like a standard shaft, flexes/loads more either at the middle of the shaft or wherever your bottom hand happens to be. I guess you could call it a 'custom kickpoint' but it's just merely marketing as this tech has been around ever since the first standard shaft.

I also have the RBZ stage 2 and it definitely has a bit of lag on snappers/wristers compared to the covert dt1 and apx that I have, with the covert having the fastest release.
