fathockey 2 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 Hi guys and gals,I have recently returned to hockey after a 16 year break and have managed to deck myself out in gear online. Being in Australia and having very few options for a guy my size (6'2" 290 pounds and caveman feet) at my LHS, I decked myself out at the Monkey. I have recently started looking at a number of other websites and found the following:http://www.sghockeystore.comhttp://www.sunarsports.comhttp://www.icehockeys.comThe prices on these sites are unbelievable. As they say, if something looks to good to be true, it often is. Does anyone know if these sites are legit or just scammers?
TeamHonda401 54 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 As they say, if something looks to good to be true, it often is.Answered your own question. With hockey gear this is always the case.
MrData 93 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 The prices aren't even what tips me off. It's the shipping. $12 flat rate shipping anywhere in the world? I think one site even had free international shipping. Yeah, right...
fathockey 2 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 Thought as much. I guess its good to have a post like this to warn others. I'm digging the sayings today, so here is another little pearler "a fool and his money are soon parted". Does anyone have a list or legit sites? I only really know of Hockey Monkey, Hockey Giant and IceWarehouse.

salibandy 21 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 First link is definitely a scam. I'm from Singapore, and that address doesn't even exist.
fathockey 2 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 That link (www.sghockeystore.com) comes up first in my google search whenever I search out a particular skate model. I was half way through a transaction with them when I finally asked myself how a $600 pair of skates could be sold for $130. Glad I asked.

I saw someone posting in the forums that this place makes nice girdles for $60 or so: http://www.hockeytron.com/Hi guys and gals,I have recently returned to hockey after a 16 year break and have managed to deck myself out in gear online. Does anyone know if these sites are legit or just scammers?the worst thing about one of these sites, was that when I stumbled on it, I called the #, and the guy sounded so frustrated that he was not a hockey store. I forget the name of the place; I do not think it was one of the ones you had listed. They had an address and phone # in SIngapore that were both bogus.
