Stock bauer foot beds

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just grabbed a pair of the new Bauer x:90 yesterday and went for my first skate on em today.

Whilst my initial thoughts were, wow these things fit great, and what awesome support and how light; the next thing that stuck out to me was how much the soles of my feet were hurting.

I could feel one of the rivets on my right foot, and could barely skate by the end of the session. I also jumped the boards a couple of times and immediately regretted it.

The foot bed is the form fit plus, ( without the tabs on the end) which top down looks like a nice quality foot bed, but once you pop it out, to me it just seems insanely thin.

I had some conform'able (sidas) foot beds in my previous pair of skates, and whilst I suffered pain every where else, it wasn't on the sole of my feet.

Has anyone else had this? Will I get used to it or shall I just switch to the old foot beds straight away?

I can't feel the rivets on my stock skates, but for my t-nut conversion for roller I added two strips of bade tape along the line of t-nut impressions on the footbed, solved the problem for my.

You have a couple of options:

Go to a shop and have them press the rivet down so it doesn't stick up so much

Put a layer of duct tape on the underside of your footbed.

Sidas footbeds are the cream of the crop. If they fit your new skates properly I would definitely swap them.

I laughed at the thought of stock footbeds being "a nice quality footbed." In reality theres nothing there but foam and maybe sticky gel. SIDAS or Superfeet + 2

Cool! Don't feel guilty about it now! All the bauers I had growing up came with super feet so I guess I was a little spoiled! Hope these sodas don't take up too much volume!

There's a fat joke in there somewhere.

I have been walking around my home for the past 2 days in these beauties, trying to get a feel for them/ soften them up. Everything (quarterpackage, heel lock, toe box) is lovely, except the footbeds. My soles are being punished. I was holding out on installing the Superfeet; I like to try everything stock first. The Superfeet are in now.

I've been usin the Bauer superfit footbeds for about 2 and a half years now and I have never had this problem of feeling the rivets.

Not just that, they just felt uber thin to me compared to what I was used to. Like going from slippers to dress shoes.

They are definitely thin, especially in the forefoot, but it hasn't really bothered me....... yet *knocks on wood
