New Easton pattern e36

Recommended Posts

Do you find the e36 open at all? I thought it was going to be more opened at the toe than it is. Saw it yesterday. Got me thinking if I buy one I may get an e3. Did u stay ur normal easton flex or go up like its been suggested?

No, it's right where it's supposed to be; in between the E3 and E4. Same flex, all 85's. I wind up cutting them all anyway so they're about 90ish.

does easton still have the 4 inch flexzone where it remains the same or has that been done away with

No companies have this, it's just marketing BS. All sticks (and in fact all flexible shafts) are harder to flex at shorter lengths. Hockey companies produce their fair share of BS marketing claims, and "cut up to 6" without changing the flex" is one of them.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the P10 you mention the old Bure P10?

Yup. This one looks more open than I recall the P10 being though, but the blade shape and overall curve is the same.

which one is the p10 clone the e28?

P10 has been out of production for a while. E28 is retail version of the pro "Kreps" curve.

Lucky dog. The perfect colors (V9) and all. Nice find! Is the blade slightly shorter?

Btw; who playes that pattern anyhow? I shoot right and am a Darby guy myself.

Blade length is barely shorter. I don't have a comparable aside from my Modano pro blades, and those two are almost exactly the same length. Kane still plays with a P10/Shanahan.

I've already taken this thread off the rails. If you have further questions about the P10, do a search or send me a PM.

Back to the E36 curve discussion.

I picked a retail 75 flex e3 v9e today. Took it to stick n shoot and some dude happened to have a pro stock 85 flex v9e with sakic curve but a tad more open at the toe. My 75 flex shoots real nice but that 85 pro stock was sweet. I may look for one or get an 85 flex e36. Wish easton made a p14. That's my favorite at the moment.

can anyone give me an idea on the difference between the lie on the e36 and the p88? I know what the marketing literature says, but I'm more interested in a picture comparing the two.

Thank you!

The E36 was never meant to be very open. It was supposed to help players that were a P88 user find an Easton curve that would be an easy transition from one to the other. Easton has quite a few open curves (E28 E3...) so its nice to have a mid curve with some depth to it that is more tame.

I had big hopes for the 36, but its not as open at the toe as they made it out to be

Just can't please some people I guess. Easton puts out a good curve, and everyone rags on it for not being what they think it should be.

Wasn't ragging on what I thought it should be. Before it came out I read it was a mid curve with a slightly open toe. When it came out I saw it and didn't think the toe looked open at all. Looks just like the p88. It's a nice curve, but from what they advertised I thought it would be a little more open at the toe. That's it.

Used it again, great stick.

That's exactly what it was said it would be. A P88 clone.

If you want something that's more open maybe checkout the E3. As Krev said the E36 was supposed to be a P88 style curve. This was geared to bridge the gap Bauer had with Easton regarding a mid curve, for most Bauer users (myself included) had a hard time using the Iginla coming from the P88.
