Is there a difference between the original tuuk lightspeed holder and the tuuk lightspeed 2 holder in term of construction? I ordered ls2 online and they sent me the lightspeed originals with the scaloped bottom

Pretty sure the rear tower of the LS2 holder is 3mm taller than the LS.

I believe there is no difference aside from the near death experience your sharpener has to look forward to if he/she uses a honing stone on them . That said, I'd send them back on the basis that they did not send you what you ordered and whether it affects performance or not, they've likely been sitting in a shop/warehouse since 2003.

Right I am pretty sure the LS and LS2 are the same height. The edge is 3mm higher than the LS2, which would make it 6mm higher than the LS if that was the case and I do not believe it is.

Not sure they are the same i am looking at a pair of each side by side. The LS2's are higher in both the rear and front. I ghe. Used my iPhone handy leveler app to measure the degrees from heel to toe. The LS2 are -13.2 and the Custom plus is -10.2. So the LS2s are 3 degrees higher in the rear or thus will provide a 3 degree higher pitch putting you on uour toes more.
