Nemesis Alpha for dirt cheap

Recommended Posts

dan the man, go get your stick replaced, it should still be under warranty (30 days right?) maybe you got a defective stick, i've had mine for 3 months and it still feels rock solid. (it sounds kinda weird though)

Yup, it's a Pro 4 curve on a 260 flex. I'm currently using a syngery grip 100 flex, but i'm finding it a touch stiff.

also, fyi, to follow up on the Pro 4 curve, to me it looks a bit deeper than an iginla. but i still haven't tried it out yet, so i'll know more once i take a few shots.

My first Alpha Nemesis lasted a little less than a month. It was a freakish break though. A puck must of hit it funny from the side because a perfect hole was made in the side wall of the stick where the blade meets the shaft (the ankle). I even used it one more game before it failed completely. My second one has lasted me for a two or three months now. The paint/enamel chips (as mentioned in the review from JR and my own review) but it is cosmetic as I have not noticed any changes in performance.

I have one more perfect one on the rack in my garage that won't get cut and/or taped until my current one breaks.

Great sticks, just too bad we can't get them any longer in the US. I get a lot of questions on it and many who have tried it wish they could still order one as I do.

Bought to from SC today...one for me...one for my brother

taped mine up (butt end and blad)...leaned on it a little to test the flex (220) and it just snapped...

taped up the second one...gonna use it out tomorrow at the rink..and then try leaning on it...

man...SC stuff really does suck...maybe that's y they're selling it for 99$

The first problem you are having/creating is that you are testing the flex by "leaning" on it. Read some other posts on this message board, and you will quickly find that this is probably the absolute worst way to test the flex of a stick. What is the point of leaning on a stick to test its flex? Use it on the ice and that will tell you how the flex feels.

i don't see what's wrong with leaning on a stick...it shouldn't break even if i do...

i lean into my shots...so why can't i do it off-ice?

the point of leaning on it to test the flex...well...to play around with my new toy...

in the shop i use no weight to flex a stick i just give it a little push with my arms and if it bends to much it is too flexy and if doesnt bend enough it isnt flexy enough lol if it bents just right than i buy it.

First of all, in a shop you can have 100 people lean on the same stick. You may have only done it once but so did the other 99 people who leaned on it. That's not good for the person who actually buys it.

Second, on the ice leaning into a shot last a split second. Most people who do it off ice, put more weight on teh stick for a longer time.

Took a visit to Sportchek today. Found a whole stash of sticks like Hespeler Patriots, CCM V100 and Hespeler Nemesis Vex. I found one Hespeler Nemesis Alpha among that pile and I didn't like it that much. The blade felt pretty weird to begin with. What is that material in the middle of the face of the blade?

That material would be the Vybe insert. The thing that makes passes flat out stop when they hit your stick.
